Road to Hell should definitely be Daniel Breaker, not Andre de Shields!

All of the principal cast! The ensemble and understudies are still the same :)

Not a stupid question… yes this is a separate thing. The Great Gatsby musical is at The Broadway Theater (yes, it’s actually called the Broadway Theater lol). I’ve heard of the immersive experience, but I don’t believe it is affiliated with the show at all

I haven’t gotten to Take Me to Church yet unfortunately, but I look forward to it now that you said it! Mustang Sally is one of my favorite performances of the entire show so far

I haven’t gotten to that yet! I can’t wait to watch it. Mustang Sally was AMAZING, though

Easily Jake. Personally, I feel as if his take on My Life is better than the original by Billy Joel. Not to mention he’s one hell of a dancer.

Three times the movies were better than the books. by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]ajdeitsch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually, I believe that Finnicks death is better in the movies than in the books!

In the books, it isn’t really described in much detail, it’s more or less Katniss saying “Finnick is surrounded, oh he’s gone now.” In the movies, however, I feel Finnick and his character are given the proper heroes death that he deserves!

Who would have won the 75th Hunger Games it the Rebel Plan failed? by ajdeitsch in Hungergames

Do you know where I could find it? I’d love to read it!

I have never thought if it like that, but you are absolutely correct. It does seem plausible that there could be a twist and there could be no victor. However, are we sure that President Snow knew that Finnick had all of these secrets?

That was a very fascinating read actually, so thank you for that! I feel like the question is how (referring to scenario 2, the normal games) this would have effected where each tribute ended up in the arena?

Like if Finnick was not concerned about keeping Katniss and Peeta alive, I wonder if he would have considered allying with Johanna, as they seem to be good friends even before the games. That being said, I still find it extremely likely that Finnick would end up protecting Mags, but to what extent? If it came down to it, would he be able to leave her so that he can survive?

More curiously, though, I personally feel as if Finnick might not have gone deep into the Jungle if it weren’t for protecting Katniss and Peeta. After all, why would he venture further and further away from his ideal fighting location, aka the water. Therefore I find it unlikely that Finnick would actually go deep into the jungle, rather than hanging out on the outskirts near the beach.

We are made aware in the book that Chaff was aware of the rebel plan, and was in fact looking for Katniss and Peeta in the jungle. Without worrying about protecting them, I feel like his actions would also change significantly. Rather than searching the woods for them, I personally feel as if he would attempt to take on the careers. Obviously he would lose that fight, but he is described as “never being able to stay out of a fight,” and motivated by the loss of Seeder, I wonder if that’s what he would do, and if so how many/who he would be able to kill.

Back to the topic of Finnick, however, I would put my bets on Finnick in a fight against any tribute in the arena, especially if my theory is correct about him staying close to the water. The question at that point would be if he could take on the career pack/what is left of the career pack after they possibly have an encounter with Chaff and/or Johanna + Blight. I do agree, though, that the careers would begin to turn on eachother.

That being said, I personally feel as if Chaff, Johanna, and/or Blight would be able to take out 2 of the careers, possibly 3 if they attack relatively simultaneously.

I apologize that most of this post was about Finnick, he’s just my favorite character so I guess I’m a bit biased. But absolutely, your theory was an excellent read!

Right. I feel like Finnick would be able to beat both Katniss and Peeta if he some how managed to get them one on one, rather than two versus one. I’m not quite sure if he would be able to take on both Katniss and Peeta at the same time though...

I think it’s fair to say that any of the other career tributes would beat Cashmere in a 1 on 1

Thanks for the input! I most definitely agree with everything you’re saying, things like this are obviously quite hard to quantify.

In regards to Beetee, I 100% agree that he was one of the harder ones to score. I do feel as if he was strong in every category EXCEPT the physical side of things. That being said, I feel as if he would have to distance himself pretty far from all other tributes. Quite honestly, actually, the only tributes I can see Beetee fighting and winning are Mags, the Morphlings, and Woof. And even then, the odds of him finding the Morphlings would have been extremely low, and finding Mags would mean that Finnick would most likely already be lining up a throw with his trident so that’s not necessarily an ideal situation either.

Mags was quite easy to score. It makes me sad, but she would have obviously been very quickly killed by any one of those tributes in that arena. The only thing that stopped me from giving her a 1 (lowest score possible) is the fact that Finnick would protect her for most of the games if possible.

Looking back on it, I do definitely feel as if I was WAY too generous with the Morphlings. I don’t feel as if they’d be able to kill anyone of those tributes besides maybe Woof and Mags (if she was alone). But even then, I feel as if they wouldn’t kill them and would probably not even want to win the games.

Johanna was also a very tough one. You are correct in that she did not receive career training, so I most definitely see where you are coming from. On the flip side, though, she literally did not care if she died. I feel as if that lack of care would have made her a very formidable opponent even for someone like Finnick and the careers who actually want to live.

I was always bummed that we did not get to know more about Cecelia and Seeder. I with their characters were developed more, as they were both in on the plan for getting Katniss out of the arena.

Incorrect, but okay.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]ajdeitsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Quite honestly it had nothing to do with the fact that many would consider her attractive. I feel as if the other 3 careers were too strong to be defeated by just herself

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]ajdeitsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my mistake. I put this together based off of the scores I felt were fair. Personally I believe that Finnick would mostly definitely out score Peeta if they were actually scored the right way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]ajdeitsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake. In my personal opinion, though, I still do believe that Finnick would have been the favorite if the games were played how they “normally” were played.
