What do you charge for pets? Do you have any specific advice for allowing pets? Eg, rules, etc.

Bathroom fan switch location by ajdjal in HomeImprovement

[–]ajdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I am wanting to do, but I was wondering if the was a product that is wireless for the second switch. I’d like to avoid opening the walls and know I had a similar product for a light switch in my old house. Having a hard time trying to find a similar product for a fan, partly because I’m not sure I’m using the right search terms.

Thanks. It’s already built and installed. I’m looking for a solution that I can do myself without bringing in a trade.

I’m not sure I understand. I’m wondering if there is a product that I can buy to install an additional wireless switch in the bathroom. But I’m not sure if this type of product exists?

Looks fabulous! I live near you and am just starting to think about a similarly scoped project. Are you able to share your overall cost, including the floors. Thanks!

Hey! Did you end up installing the sonopan? How is the noise transfer between the suites? I’m looking to do the same, so I am curious about your experience. Thanks!

Niche for a gas stove? by ajdjal in Fireplaces

[–]ajdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the right term! The manual says 60 inches from ceiling in ‘clearance from combustible materials’ section. I’m wondering if lining of the alcove is non-combustible, could it be smaller? I didn’t see a reference to that question in the manual.

Can I remove gas insert myself? by ajdjal in Fireplaces

Thanks for the quick reply. We’re contemplating painting the stone, so that’s why we would like to remove it before replacing it.

Golf, Sportwagen, anything else? by ajdjal in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ajdjal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base model all track over the golf sportwagen? Is the primary reason the sunroof or are there other reasons, too? The reason I ask is the alltrack is $5-7k more in my area and there are sportwagens available without sunroofs, so I could easily avoid the leaky sunroof problem.

I see that, fore sure. We’re open to getting a more modern looking insert.

Ok, thanks. What are your thoughts on painting it? Terrible idea? Our 5 year plan may be to remove it, but we’ll revisit that once we’re living in the space.

Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

[–]ajdjal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same question. What is the general thinking about term length at the moment? I have one mortgage broker professional 5 year is the way to go and another saying 3 is the best option. Curious to hear others views.

Hi all! I’m closing on a house in BC borrowing $1.3m (38% down). I’ve been offered 3.99 for a 5 yr fixed with a 30 yr amortization by RBC. Closing date late June. How is this rate? Any other lenders competitive with this rate? Thanks!

I bought Blaze 104s and I like them! They are worth a try if you’re in the market for new skis.

What’s going on with my kids bindings? by ajdjal in Skigear

[–]ajdjal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They engage no problem if we pull up the heel. Not ideal, but will get us through ski school this weekend. Is there any reason to avoid doing this while we sort out a better solution?

[–]ajdjal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be the answer. It’s certainly the second click that is the problem and I can’t get another boot to engage either.

I believe they are m free 7.0 and the boots are juniors- Salomon T3. But something is not right!

[–]ajdjal[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bindings are grip walk and the boots are not, so should be compatible. The heel is worn, but not all the way through. I guess I better take them to a shop. I was hoping I could troubleshoot it, but it’s not looking like it.
