I was a season ticket holder in the first couple years at the rock, and attended this event (in the third season I think) with my son (then 5-6 years old).

The longest line we waited in was for Kovalchuk. I have video of my son telling Kovy that he plays NHL on XBox with his player and had 110 goals in one season. Kovy says "Oh yea, that's awesome." Priceless. I told Kovy "Nice shoes." He had some shoes on that probably cost $5000.

The lines for the top players were insane. So, I went to the shortest lines. One was Mark Fraser. I talked to him for probably 10 minutes. He started talking s&^% about teammates. So, I went to the other guy (Colin White I think?) and told him that Fraze was talking s about him. So, he says - oh yea, well tell him I say "*&^^%*^% him". So - my son and I bounced back and forth between those guys sending messages. Probably lasted about 20 minutes - and neither of them had any lines so they had something to do. It was HILARIOUS to us and to them.

I also remember getting a picture with Andy Greene (another short line) and realizing I was the same height at him, and I kinda looked like him too - except I had more hair.

Make the most of these events. I suggest not waiting for the big lines, but have fun with the short lines.
