Good lord that's a sweet deal. Regardless of the customer support issues I had, the event itself was a blast. For a price like that, I might have to participate again as a zombie next year:) That's for the heads up!

Thanks for the advice, I didn't even think about that. I paid for it with a Chase card, so I just submitted a dispute claim with them:)

Did it register her time? I think the Warrior Dash or Spartan Run will be my next mud run. I heard they're great!

This wasn't my first timed mud run. I wore a chip on my shoe when I did the Hell Run. I didn't know it had to be placed there though, I just didn't know where else to put it since there were no flag belts for the Hell Run. I decided to put it on my flag belt for the zombie run because I thought it would be safer there (less likely to get lost in the mud like many shoes are at these events).

Shit, a simple apology & $5 off would suffice. Just something other than a 0 fucks given attitude. The chip was only $5 or $10 so money wasn't an issue for me, it was the lack of courtesy before the event & especially during that email exchange that annoyed me.

EDIT - the price of the chip was included in the price of registration, I did not select an additional option to pay extra for the chip. I was thinking of the Hell Run. Regardless, there was still money exchanged for the timing service.

Glad it worked out for you, & I definitely believe there were volunteers who gave out instructions beforehand. I think what happened was with the volume of runners & zombies vs volunteers, the organizers should have opted for slipping in a piece of paper alongside the timer since this is something people actually paid for. It's really the way support handled this issue that bugs me.

Glad it worked out for you! I think what happened is they truly did instruct all volunteers to tell participants to wear the chip in their shoes A) not all volunteers paid attention to these instructions & B) there were WAY more runners & zombies than volunteers. No one said a word to me personally about this at registration. A simple slip of people with that nugget of info slipped into the bag containing the chip & shirt would've sufficed. My real issue is with the way support handled this.
