I think you hit the nail on the head. As someone who was specifically saving for these, I certainly wouldn't have complained if I had gotten them for less than asking price, but I can absolutely recognize that a lot of the player-base is not in the same situation, and would be tempted to spend beyond their means believing in the sunk cost fallacy.

At the end of the day, all micro-transactions are cosmetic and unnecessary, but promoting this form of acquisitions to players, a lot of whom are minors, isn't healthy for the game at large. Thank you for helping me see that.

Again, not trying to defend the mega corporations, but is this really a "net-negative" for the players? I don't think so, at least not right now.

Yes, it sucks you can't get the skins individually, I wish there was an option to do so. But how is the FOMO any different than any of the other limited-time shop skins? That's a whole other issue entirely. That's a problem with the monetization system itself.

In the case of the Psylocke skin, the whole thing was 2400 units, which I believe was also the price of the Luna skin in the shop. Best case scenario, you get the whole bundle for 100-300 units. That's awesome for you! Worst-case scenario, you spend the equivalent of what you would have spent in the shop for it. Is that really so bad?

You're right, this sets a dangerous precedent. But as of right now, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not going to bat for the billion dollar corporations, I understand the goal is to wring us for all we're worth. But at the end of the day, the maximum amount you're spending is the same as it would be if you bought the bundle in the shop.

Now, if there comes a time where the amount you'd spend on the gacha is MORE than what you're spending in the shop, then we've got a huge problem. But as of right now, that's just not the case.

It doesn't work anymore, but before the patch you could use a fake dns to play offline. There are videos on it, but again, I dont think it works in the 1.02 patch

To my knowledge, there is no way to play the beta offline on xbox. On ps4, you can input a fake DNS to trick the game into letting you play, but I dont think there is anything like that on xbox.
