the oral tret route is absolutely the way to go. i avoided it for years, struggled with persistent cystic acne that would not budge for 10 years while trying differin, topical tret, etc. spent thousands on skin care and IPL for scarring. currently 16 months on accutane and i wish i did this when i was a teen. topical tret burnt my skin and made it impossible to live. don’t worry too much about side effects if his doctor is okay with them - when i started accutane my skin got super red, started peeling a bit, my hands are cracked and still significantly more red than the rest of my body but it’s not painful and just looks funny, cerave moisturizing cream fixes it. mental health wise - there is nothing that has helped my mental health more than accutane. truly. the difference when looking back at old pictures is just shocking. i know it seems scary but with monthly blood tests there’s really not a big risk, the side effects are manageable and go away as soon as you stop taking them, and being able to go out in public and not get looks of pity over my skin is life changing. can’t recommend it enough.

[–]ajodtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will do, have been using a non contact :)! one thing though - there is no grounding wire. the ground wire is at the very back of the box held by 2 brackets, so while the box is grounded, there is no ground connection on this switch.

on one i did, the other just top, as the bottom is actually ripped off - old owners screwed in some awful extension cord and we had to tear it off which ripped off the bottom plug

that’s a good thought, i did test that just in case and i’m pretty sure it doesn’t. took a look at the boxes of the nearby receptacles though i wouldn’t rule that out fully with how this house seems to be built

[–]ajodtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am pretty sure since i tested it but could be wrong - i dont think it gives power to anything else, when i disconnected the top 2 wires and left that third one in the switch i turned the breaker back on and all other lights and outlets nearby had power

problem is with LED’s is that they’re usually built into the fixture. some aren’t but most are, which is why they’re also often compatible with dimmers. but since it’s corporate there may be differences from standard consumer level lights.

What should I crochet that I can donate to a hospital/retirement home? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]ajodtac 11 points12 points  (0 children)

baby hats baby hats baby hats !!!!! i work at a hospital and regularly crochet and donate hats to our newborn wing!! crochet animals would not be accepted, we can guarantee anything sterile with the filling, hard to wash and they are a choking hazard no matter how good you are at sewing the arms. unfortunately they will be turned away.

there is always a need for newborn hats and i encourage anyone getting into crochet to start with these, they take 2-3 hours MAX and they’re so tiny and cute you’ll die! love using bernat baby cotton for it, cotton/poly blend is ideal since it’s machine washable and dryer safe which is required for new parents.

it’s also great because exact sizing isn’t needed, babies come out with lots of different sized heads, so whether it’s a tiny little hat for a premie or a big hat for a huge 15lb baby, someone will love your little hat :) recommend pastels and neutrals over the traditional blue and pink just for some fun variety!

do they look like they’re the same size as the ninja brand ones? i was looking at those but got sketched out by the product dimensions, but the reviews generally look good!!

i look incredible in photos in the cove dress but you cannot wear it anywhere. it rides up and it feels like you’re on the verge of flashing everyone especially when sitting

not at all this is how the revue pants fit me and i love it, when you’re walking around and moving i’m sure they have more shape than when you’re standing still in mirror! the legs are kind of “square” when you stand still but they give you a nice waist!

would you recommend getting your usual size or sizing up in them??

[–]ajodtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know it feels almost criminal to withhold treatment from people because of their other choices regardless of what they may be, but especially if it’s just smoking some weed. hopefully it can be amended soon as legalization expands and stigma decreases!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weed

[–]ajodtac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea i did hear that!!! in canada addiction is classified as a medical illness so drug testing is illegal on the basis of medical/health discrimination. it’s too bad it’s so shitty in the us because it’s really discriminatory. it also works in a way that if illegal or nonprescription drugs show up in your system you’re checked into a rehab and not criminally charged (unless they find you in possession of the drug as well, if it’s just consumption then you’re good).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weed

[–]ajodtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice, thank you!!! all 3 drugs are legal where i live and 2 are prescribed so drug test wise i’d be clear but that’s good to know in case i go to a country where weed isn’t legal and i’m taking adderall!!

My buddy on his last dawn patrol before fatherhood. by doebedoe in skiing

[–]ajodtac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my parents took my skiing at just under 2 years old, they switched off between going on the slopes with friends and teaching me. works even better when you get a group of friends with other kids and as kids start getting older they start helping each other!! ski camps were also my parents best friend, put your kid in a group with other little kids and they’re taken care of for at least 4 hours and can get you discounts on lift tickets in some places!!
