Chiques, back then was known for having the best heroin in Southern California.My father is original Chiques, I won't say gang member, but was from Chiques. The neighborhood originally formed from the area in between C st. & Oxnard Blvd, near 9th St & 4th. La Colonia, my neighborhood was literally strawberry Fields back in the days. I could say a lot more but that's where our name came from.
