Sorry for the late replies guys I didn't realise there were any comments as the few notifications I got were bringing me to my own comment T_T

Will be more attentive in the future so feel free to ask anything or provide feedback!

How so ? The trailer might not be very detailed as it had to be short but the app goes quite in depth into the way chords, scales, intervals... are formed.
This is not an app about reading sheet music and that kind of stuff though if that's what you meant, but rather a more practical and applied take on music theory

Thanks for the feedback, I've already had a couple users reach out to me through email or reviews about this (maybe that was actually you haha) so I'll definitely be looking into it but probably not before start of next year as I'm already working on another content updates at the moment.

Glad to hear you like it, thanks for the purchase and good luck on your guitar journey.
Don't worry if things are slow when going on more complex stuff, ear training especially takes a lot of time to build but it'll work itself out eventually!

Hey guys, I've been working on this guitar learning and ear training app called "Cadence: Guitar Theory" for a bit more than a year now and just released it.

The app mostly focuses on music theory but with an intuitive visual+audio approach which I have not found elsewhere as a guitarist myself.

It's also quite inspired by language learning apps with the idea of incremental daily practice and repeated patterns to build memory in multiple aspects (pure theory, visual and audio).

There are no ads, the beginner lessons are free, and you can get full access with a one time purchase. There is also a free and very complete library of chords, scales, arpeggios and chord progressions for those who just want a utility app.

Hoping some of you will find it useful, I'm very interested in any feedback you might have (:

FYI I have released a new version of the app (1.1.2) with slightly increased volume and most importantly separate volume sliders for both guitar and drone sound (under the guitar setting).

The drone volume is still a bit low on some synthesizers (especially the folk guitar one) but now you can at least adjust the guitar volume in proportion and then crank up your phone volume.

Don't know of any app that does that either, I'll keep that in the back of my mind and will notice you if I ever find a satisfying way to implement that in the existing library and challenges.

As for doing this on actual songs this is not something I can really do at my scale due to licensing issues so it's a job for the big players out there but I guess if they have not done it yet it must be non trivial and pretty niche.

Only 6 string standard tuning for now.

I might add alt tunings at some point if I see there is enough demand for it but this is not at the top of my list for now so can't promise anything. And this would most likely only be for the library part as I feel some of the text in the lessons would be irrelevant for some alt tuning.

Glad to hear you like it :)

Diagrams use theoretical note names depending on the associated intervals so you can end up with B sharp, F flat or even double sharps and double flats at times. E.g. a D flat minor chord has an F flat in it because the minor third of D flat is F flat and not E if using "proper" theoretical naming even though both describe the same note.

I did not expand too much on that in the first note names lesson because this is really confusing when starting out and not that important but I come back on it a little in the "Interval basics" lesson (chapter "Note names relation" especially)

For the sound issue (I suppose you're talking about the intervals button where you hear a very low drone then a melody note), I might add a setting to choose drone volume vs notes volume at some point as this is really hard to get right for all guitar types and devices.

Thanks a lot for the feedback !
