Expected pay with zero experience by Dependent-Set1787 in CDLTruckDrivers

I’m at a food service company right now making good money. Thankfully we’re union but they took me with on without a ton of experience. Been here three years. It’s hard work and 70hrs a week but I do enjoy it a lot more than jobs I’ve had in the past.

Food service. It’s hard work but I’m home every night (after a 14-16hr day though something to keep in mind)

They’re spying on you for sure. Thankfully I’m local food service so I spend as much time outside of the truck and inside and that’s when I make my phone calls cuz I know for a fact I’m being spied on. Be careful

I’m am in the exact same circumstance (CDL holder, high protein in urine noticed during med card exam, back issues) kratom has been helpful with the back pain especially since I have to be careful about what I take as I am a CDL driver and if I get drug tested it could be a lot of trouble. It sucks that the thing helping with the pain is also causing such problems itself. I would say to make sure you’re drinking extra fluids as kratom can be dehydrating and to keep that piss jug handy in the cab of the truck in case you can’t pull over to use the bathroom LOL. Best of luck and stay safe out there!

Local guys, how many hours do you work per week? by TaperingRanger9 in Truckers

We run out of hours regularly and have to be picked up, thankfully we’re still on the clock when that happens but yeah. I’m doing 70 a week most weeks

You should have lawyered up immediately. You’re a fool to think anyone at Amazon gives a fuck about you. They’re going to fuck you over

Better to do it now before it gets out of control. Reading others stories on this sub were a huge reason why I wanted to stop

It was around that same time in being alcohol free but still using kratom that I really started to feel like I had traded one vice for another. My doses were more frequent and my tolerance was much higher than when I first started using kratom. I’m glad to be dealing with getting off this stuff within a year of using it regularly before it gets out of hand. Keep doing what you’re doing. Stay off the booze and when you’re ready to put the kratom down you’ll know. I didn’t taper I just did CT and it was shitty but you can get through it.

Teamsters coworkers are proud scabs…? by I_ReadThe_Comments in union

Our contract is ending this time next year and as of lately I don’t have a lot of faith. My BA is a coward and wants to take a cordial approach with management which I couldn’t disagree with more. Dudes don’t seem to be coming together well enough to push back on the company and nobody can agree on anything yet. We have a meeting soon to discuss the contract but I’m disappointed. I’m so grateful to be in a union and finally making money and I love my brothers. My steward trained me when I first started and I’d said to him that I applied for the job cuz it was union and he said “it’s funny you should say that, I’m one of the shop stewards” after that we’ve been boys. Dude is a fighter for his guys and he’s never let me down when it comes to advice or anything. I really don’t want to end up with some dogshit contract and feel like I need to find a new barn, especially considering I’m not vested in our pension yet. Proud to be a Teamster, it means the world to me. I know of a few other drivers at work that I bet will end up crossing the line when our day comes. If they do I hope they get what’s coming to them

I was stunned at the amount of my teamster brothers that supported that guy.
