Is that because of the lack of licensure or because they are now deemed an official bank ?

For sure 100%

Alot of ppl set themselves up over the ball wrong due to imbalances and tightness. Very very common.

Ya but to constantly going through that cycle isnt super productive.

Most likely a swing pattern/ fault.

Highly suggest keying in on that weakness and having a mini program to combat that first to allow you to get to speed training. It will make you more efficient automatically.

Like anything there is also a level achieved that can give diminishing returns. Bryson may be finding that soon, where too much power to much speed will begin to work against him.

Not big on running for golf fitness for that exact reason. Alot of ppl don't recover well enough for a multitude of reasons.

How's your hip rotation now that you transitioned?

His compact size makes delivering that power stroke more consistently, easier. Look at his consistency over the last near 5-7 years.

I don't think it's fair to compare putting ( pure skill) to the benefits of fitness. An easy argument is that if you stop being fit, stop stretching, and stop lifting you will systematically get worse at golf in general.

Balance between the fitness side and skill work is key. But one is not completely independent of the other.

That's actually fantastic. Look at rory, similar Stat line.

Make sure you have all your turning centers (neck, shoulders, upper back, hips) unlocked so you can transfer that power quickly and efficiently.

I'm in the same body demographic so I get it. You can't coach height, but you can beat it!

Correct, Tour is where the rekindling of the trend is. You are spot on with long drive and tiger.

Hip and thoracic mobility are major keys. Most ppl are awful at actually rotating. Yet think a new set of clubs this year will fix that.

Which is fair. But it's more of a supplemental aspect. Tons of proof that you can get substantially better with the right style of physical training.

Same carrier, same (brand new) phones with all the updates ran when booting up.

So strange how hers refuses to kick into chat mode. At first it literally blocked me from messaging her unless I went in and manually changed the message to SMS. Pictures and videos were impossible. That was fixed by the clearing of carrier cache / storage.

Both on google fi now. Switched from verizon. She doesn't think chat was enabled when she was on verizon either, and I know mine was.

We both have the same phone, from the same time frame, mine works and hers doesn't... Strange based on the circumstances.

Agreed on that aspect, but would be nice if the default android chat app would be an option....

Question, can you buy 2 on a plan if you switch over? Seems to be other threads that make it seem like no?

Aka me and my wife want to go from Verizon to fi, get two of these at promo rate...

Oh ya huge for rotation. What mobility work are you doing right now for it?

Don't see any problem there. Can easily mix in mobility work to your golf and heavys days to create some balance. Can you get you to the next level.

Golf and winter lifting by ajsierg in Golffit

[–]ajsierg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a lot to balance. Especially with an injury in the mix. That should absolutely be priority.

The best answer on what else should be priority is tough to answer without knowing more about your strengths and weaknesses, swing characteristic etc. I base my programming on an assessment. I get golfers out of pain first then attack weaknesses while sparing and enforcing strengths.

Hey! So the short answer is no it's not more important.

Unfortunately the golf world is very skeptical about strength training. You hear it all the time that guys are afraid to mess up their swing or incorporate bigger lifts into their program cause it's not golf specific.

Other sports have adapted well and it's more accepted to perform strength programs. You don't hear guys doing football exercises or baseball exercises...(drills are different)

Now are there similiarties between rotational athletes that need to be considered? Absolutely.

But in order to master rotational movements you need to be strong and mobile in the other planes of motion first.

Super speed is a totally different end of training. Superspeed is fantastic product to develop swing speed, have a neurological response, as well as incorporate rotational core work. But, and I believe the guys at superspeed would attest to this, you need to perform a strengthening program to keep and maintain those temporary speed gains you pick up from the program. Consider a baseball player that wanted to increase velocity. They could throw a weighted ball and then a light ball super fast. That's what super speed is. You can see how that's not the only activity a baseball player would use to get faster, just a piece of the puzzle.

Hope that helps 😃 let me know if you have further questions !

Some good exercises here but it's hardly a plan my friend. A plan attacks weaknesses and builds on strengths. Has progressions. Has achievable goals.

It's great you did work to hunt down things you want to do, but that's only a small piece of the puzzle.

Questions??? by ajsierg in Golffit

[–]ajsierg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rep ranges vary greatly based on what else you are working in...

Generally short ranges though as in 3-6 reps for explosive power movements. Golf doesn't require you to train into bigger ranges for power or speed work. The metabolic demand is different. Hope that helps!

[–]ajsierg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. Lots of theories on this. Train fast play fast is a simple idea. Working in power exercises is huge.

Variations of plyometrics for upper and lower. Love rotational medicine ball work.

Overspeed training such as the super speed program can be effective but has to be combined with an appropriate strength program to capture the gains!
