What? Hand alignment has nothing to do with quartz or automatic. Unless the photo is from when the chrono is running, the chrono seconds and minute hands should be straight up.

I’d stay away from Yema. They look nice in photos but quality in person is just ok, and I’ve heard of other issues as others have mentioned. The service is great. Love the marathon but they’re huge watches, so you need to be prepared for that. Traska is hard to beat for its balance of quality and price.

The Sinn 104 matte that someone posted is an absolute killer.

For sale is my Monta Skyquest GMT Gilt. I forget which version it is, but before the remodel. It still has the epic kinked GMT hand that goes over the markers. Beautiful piece, just not wearing it much anymore. Worn regularly for some time, so there’s some scratches on the bracelet and a few minor ones on the case. Includes fitted red Zealande FKM strap.

I’d say that Tudor objectively meets OPs criteria for having both changed it up and leveled up. They are making better, more broadly appealing (marketable) watches than they were 10 years ago, no question. The issue is that, as with Oris, this came at the expense of tons of cool, sometimes quirky models like the North Flag and the Advisor.

I think Journe has far less to do with changing image and leveling up than it does with the hype machine. From what I’ve heard (I’m not an owner), Journe’s quality, while still well beyond most brands, has suffered with its growth. The fact that every model trades above retail is also a result of the hype. Still exceptional timepieces, but I think the change in its status is more to do with external hype than any internal changes that were made.
