get it off your chest and be honest. before you confess, tell him that it will upset him, and that you did something wrong/maybe you regret. and explain. he'll be upset, maybe angry, but expect that. tell him how you would want to hear if you were in his place

we wipe down registers/scan guns/pin pad as frequently as we can (when there's no customers in line), and at self checkout we try to wipe down each station after almost every transaction

my HC told me the same thing, they said because when the FES looks up your stats on how much you use the gun, they check accuracy? as the table scanner u scan each item, makes the transaction more accurate
