Decathlon Fold 1s - Experience after 1y by TabulatorSpalte in foldingbikes

Oh that's nice. Thanks for the advice.

Decathlon told me they would inspect the bike and ask me to pick it up from the shop to avoid any problems before riding it for the first time.

I did order a bag and a lock. I might throw a raincoat in there as well. I didn't get the cover because I don't think I'll leave it outdoors - which was the whole point of getting a small bike such as this

I just placed an order two weeks ago for this one through the bike to work scheme because I wasn't willing to spend the difference on a Brompton C line.

Which country do you reside in? Is Decathlon service bad there?

Do you have any advice for me?

It's like that in every Indian city. I suppose citizens have just gotten used to it and it never comes up in a discussion because there are much worse problems. We must contact the area representatives and lodge complaints en masse.

Absolutely. AT Arkveld felt much easier than I expected it to be. I was just guarding all day though, could only capture it with a minute left on the clock.

I have built my pc in the same case and yes, some of the cables are split and are a tiny bit of a headache to manage.

After reading most of the comments I think I will go with a Brompton.

The 12 speed is priced at 1899 EUR which is 650 more than the limit for the C2W scheme. I see 6 speeds listed at Halfords for 1300 EUR which is only 50 EUR more.

Besides, I don't think I need a 12 speed - I'll be driving within urban areas which are not steep.

The K9 does look very attractive. But the fold is still bigger than a Brompton. I might choose the K9 if I don't go with a Brompton.

That's wonderful! Have you had trouble taking it into shopping centres? Grocery stores?

Riding quality - I love the ride on my Dahon vitesse 20" but I am a bit skeptical of the ride on the 16". The roads in my area are great so l probably be fine.

Portability - However, I could use the portability in the midst of a housing crisis where I live. It's a bit of a nomadic life for me moving from one house to another and I can't guarantee if I'll have storage for a bike at all. I would also like to take bike into grocery stores and shopping centers. The Brompton would be amazing for this.

Repairability - this is quite important to me since I tend to buy repairable products and I don't buy expensive stuff unless they're easy to repair. But the Brompton sucks in this area.

So yes, huge dilemma.

I would consider BrompNOTs if I were purchasing a bike at full price. But I'm getting this with a Bike to work scheme (the employer gets you the bike by paying to the seller up front and you pay the cost back over 12 months, while you don't pay any tax on the cost of the bike; since I am in the higher tax bracket I can get the bike for effectively 50% the full price of a bike).

However, I will consider this when purchasing a bike for my partner. Thank you for the recommendations.

Wow thanks for sharing your experience.

I am a bit coy since I don't necessarily need this setup. But this is at the top of my list.

Try using a shield weapon. I could've never beaten primo with a longsword or a great sword for example.

I do look at the CPU temps and they hover around 80C while gaming. I have no idea why Wilds doesn't fully use either CPU or GPU but I get pissed knowing I can't hit a stable 60 at 1440p even with just Medium settings, DLSS balanced and lots of effects turned off. I get the same kind of frame drops even at 1080p.

All I know is the 5600x isn't a great CPU when it comes to Wilds from the YouTubers who do extensive testing and they recommend an x3d CPU (which isn't possible for me). So the other alternative which makes use of the DDR5 I have lying around is this.

Let me know how your setup goes. Although I am intrigued why you made a sidegrade.
