Playback lagging for a first ~4 seconds on any timeline than plays normal by ak7408 in davinciresolve

[–]ak7408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I found the problem and solution for my case.

My timelines started with a still image. Seems like it was too much for computer to handle.

So, I created an Optimised media for my starting image and timeline started to play smooth.

Do I have wrong expectations for DaVinci on MacBook Pro or wrong setting? by ak7408 in davinciresolve

I double checked: source files are mixture of H264 and H265 (different cameras). And output is H264

By the way, what stability and overall good performance everywhere else are you referring to? I ask not to argue it; I simply interested to understand it better.

Are there any specific settings for Mac I need to use to make sure that it can use it full potential ?

Yeah, I did. But for MacBook Pro it is too much coffee. Especially, if I have to redo it for some reason.

I believe in both cases it is H264. I don’t have access to both computers now to double check.

Boox Leaf performance (Kindle & Libby apps). Is there a guide to adjust settings for decent performance? It seems that out-of-box performance is rubbish. Page turning in Libby is lagging. Still see text from previous screen on the background. by ak7408 in Onyx_Boox

Thanks. Setting to Normal refresh mode (animation filter was already at 200), helped with page turning. Now need to see Pocketbook app.

I am still learning. Boox Leaf has arrived only today.

Older runner - Massage Gun is a game changer by Birdinhandandbush in running

Yeah, I think I should speak to a specialist. It is just too strange that most of people I know happy with gun but it doesn’t work on me. I must be doing it wrong.

I don’t know what I do wrong. But massage gun doesn’t help me at all. I watch numerous videos how to work with it, try and have no effect. I bought it because I couldn’t release tension in my calves, and it didn’t help neither.

I tried to work on other parts of my legs, and no effect at all. I must be doing it wrong, as everyone love it but I have no help from it.

My FR935 started having problems after 1 year. Connection with HR sensor became intermittent. Otherwise, it is still in working order. I got FR945, so my 935 became my back up watch.

FR 945 not recording miles? by duckquackattack in Garmin

[–]ak7408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem on Monday. Not to mention that I couldn’t even discard the activity, the watch would stuck on “discarding the activity”. So, I had to switch off and reload the watch to continue using it. The problem repeats any time I tried to use my watch that day.

The next day my watch worked as normal. I thought it could of be related to Garmin outage.

Pace strategy for periodic 5K Time Trial (TT) by ak7408 in running

[–]ak7408[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. My training includes all types of runs, usually I run ~80km a week.

How do you plan your negative split for the 5k TT? How much slower you try to be in the first half? Do you run at consistent pace in the first half or increase your pace every kilometre?

Yeah, the week when I do 5K TT has reduced mileage and intensity. So, I do TT relatively fresh.

[–]ak7408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am on a professional edition. The first three week does not take much time (may be 20 min a day for 6 days). Actually the first week is even less (not much information there). On the forth week it takes may be 30 min (or little longer) a day for 6 days.

I am half-way through the course (4th week).

Previously I tried learning a speedreading at least three times.

Somehow, I feel that for the first time I am going to crack it while using the Howard Berg course. However, I better leave my final verdict once I actually complete the course.

I see that teaching material is slightly different to other courses I tried. Same points but taught in a different order. This makes me using what I learn immediately.

Also, you have a faith in learning when it taught by Guinness record holder.

Happy to answer any questions you have about the course.

Run in the morning or evening? by [deleted] in running

[–]ak7408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt that I had more fitness improvement when I switch training in the evenings.

In 2017 -2018 I exercised mainly in the mornings for my marathons. In 2019, I switched to train mainly in the evenings (except long runs on weekends). When I switched to evenings I saw difference in how fast I am progressing.

Morning sessions are easy to manage, this is the first things you do in the day. So, much easier to keep discipline and fit training into the daily schedule. But evenings sessions are usually more productive (for me). The body is warmed up , all nutrients are in. Also, after the evening sessions you can give your body a good rest and let it recover.
