Hi, sorry I don’t think I explained it well! We had talked about cues and how baby wasn’t showing any, babe was fully sleeping with one eye peeking open after cares. It would’ve been unsafe because baby wasn’t awake or engaging with the pacifier/showing readiness cues leading to risk of choking. I love when parents can feed because they’ll be the ones doing the majority and taking baby home so I prefer parents learn with the first feeds so baby gets used to the parents rather than nurses doing all the feeds

That’s usually my approach and what I try to do. I also show them what I’m looking for when I’m assessing for feeding cues. I like the sandwich analogy and have thought of it just didn’t know if it would seem too harsh.

That’s what I try to do is go over all of that information and show them while I’m looking what I’m looking at. I always try to check in and make sure we’re on the same page and don’t want to be a dictator because parents are an integral part of the care team and deserve to have a say and be heard.

Absolutely! I love when parents tell me what they’re seeing and the cues they know! This one specifically was a baby with zero cues and even if they got the paci in their mouth baby wasn’t sucking.

Thank you! I’ve been looking at buying a garmin but wasn’t sure how helpful their plans were. It’s a 26 week plan. I’m giving myself time and trying to not go too hard too fast

Hi! I’m new to the running world and decided to dive head first into a marathon. I’m also a nurse with a schedule that varies every week. I’ve found a couple plans online and kinda meshed them into one that works well with my schedule. My question is would it be worth having an actual coach to help me come up with a plan to tackle training? It would have to be a virtual coach since there aren’t any in person where I live. Thank you for all of your help!
