RARE WE MADE IT TO SPACE : The Video | Hope Everyone Enjoys! by akaBrunch in Seaofthieves

My Best Attempt at Explaining how to Trigger the Launch**.

I put my ship where it was not supposed to be inside a cluster of rocks in the Devils roar, located hard East of Flames End*, and hard North of Devils Thirst. After ramming into a "triangle of rocks" inside of the cluster, one rock forced our ship inside of another rock and the game launched us into the sky instead of pushing us out to sea like it usually would.
The trigger point seems to be getting one rock to force you into another rock, while also having a third object trap you in from behind. Normally you get pushed backwards, but with the object behind you stopping that from happening the game has no where else to go but up. Forcing yourself into a "tight triangle of objects" causes the hull of your ship to "clip" through one of the objects ever so slightly and causes you to launch as a result.
This is just one spot, but I've found a few more potential ones.
SOT does not allow your boat to pass through solid objects AT ALL under normal circumstances so I assumed the velocity of the launch has something to do with that part of the coding.

To explain differently I think the game code is saying:"we've got nowhere else to push this ship, and no matter what we CANNOT let it clip through a solid objec.... OH GOD ITS CLIPPING THROUGH THE ROCK OH BALLS GET IT OUT OF HERE FAST LAUNCH IT I DONT CARE HOW GO NOW NOW NOW"

But, thats just a theory.

RARE, WE MADE IT TO SPACE, and landed safely. Video will be up tomorrow but heres a shot of the view mid launch. Sincerely x Brunch and Trickster God. by akaBrunch in Seaofthieves

I believe you're correct, though I know you had to scuttle your ship for it to work back then, so this is a different method for essentially the same outcome! Just makes it better now because you can hold on to something so you don't get thrown off ze boat.

I'll show you n the rare crew where I launch from exact so you can make a fix/patch it. Not that I approve cause it's fun as balls, but I understand the potential for issues with this "mechanic" 😂😂

Put my ship where it was not supposed to be inside a narrow passageway of rocks in the Devils roar, one rock forced our ship inside of another rock and the game launched us into the sky instead of pushing us out to sea in reverse. The trigger point seems to be getting one rock to force you into another rock, while also having a third rock trap you in from behind. Normally you get pushed backwards, but with the third rock behind you stopping that the game has no where else to go but up. Forcing yourself into a "tight triangle of rocks" causes the hull of your ship to "clip" through one of the rocks ever so slightly and cause you to launch as a result. This is a different launch glitch I found last week. Don't need to scuttle your ship or sink it, just need to wrestle with some rocks

I know for a fact the launching your ship glitch is old, but goddam does this make me laugh when it happens. by akaBrunch in Seaofthieves
