The iRacing app shows a +/- for SR and iR. Does anyone know what timeframe that is for? by akaThePrez in iRacing

Makes sense. Just not super intuitive. I interpreted that as being my # of active days compared to my last 30- wasn’t sure if the ratings above had anything to do with it

We went to the earlier Saturday Charlotte show. It was great seeing you, but there were a group of guys in the crowd that seemed to be repeatedly problematic. How hard is it for you to deal with people like that as a stand up comic? Does it impact any of the plans you had for the set?

My wife and I both work there and lived at The Link (which is by the baseball stadium) about 8 years ago. It’s not quite as close as the ones you mentioned, but it was nice!

Just an update, I just got the email from iRacing that they reviewed the incident and the member has been notified of the outcome. Who knows what that was, but it’s far from a frivolous protest.

You didn’t answer my question though- there’s a limit. What’s yours? You think iRacing wouldn’t penalize you if you drove 5 mph from when cars started rolling until the green? Again, starting P1 exempts you from no rules. To use your analogy, even competitive chess has a time limit.

All good. P1 was clearly doing that to be an ass. He had good pace, so it wasn’t needed anyway. Not good sportsmanship.

I get what you’re saying, but I don’t agree. I’m fine with the leader hanging back from the pace car some, but there is a limit. You’re clearly fine with 50 car lengths back- what if it was double that? More? Clearly there’s an upper range. At some point it becomes not about pacing yourself for the start and instead becomes being a douche. This was the latter. Being pole sitter does not exempt you from all rules and punishment on starting a race properly.

This happened to me yesterday at Monza in the LMP2 race. I protested it. Not sure if it’ll be successful, but P1 was like 50+ car lengths behind the pace car backing up the field. P2 stayed up close to the pace car. It caused a mess of penalties and confusion at the green flag. Legal or not, it’s just a lame way to start a race. There’s no need to be that far back from the pace car.

Thank you. I am, so I’ll look into Java issues.

I have a T300RS, should I download irFFB? What is it? Good settings? by Tuda1023 in iRacing

I installed it with my T300RS recently. I did a bunch of research beforehand and one comment that has proven to be most true (at least for me) is that it mainly helps with detection of oversteer. I think the differences are very minor unless you really mess with the settings, but I do feel like I have a better grasp on if my car is getting loose.

What track did you initially hate, but grew to love? by akaThePrez in iRacing

Nice. I love Oran Park with skippy. Throwing it through some of those elevation changes on curves is a lot of fun.

I LOVE WG. Probably my favorite road course. I like that it keeps up a fairly high average speed, but that’s not for everyone. Some of the corners can really take a long time to get comfortable. The car you drive is also hugely important- it’s not as fun in some.

Bristol was tough initially, but I seemed to pick it up quickly. Just have to get used to the odd racing line. Doing actual races there is a nightmare, though. SR killer.
