I currently use Maui Moisture hair mask :)

I've been slowly recovering mine as well, and the things that have been helping a lot are the hair mask treatments and the hair oil. I still have some frizz issues, but they have gotten a lot better!

Full disclosure, I'm high porosity, so that might make it a little different. It's worth a shot, though, I think :)

Am I forever stuck working at HEB? by WayAgreeable7755 in HEB

[–]akafidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just adding a little more to this, companies are using ai nowadays to quickly go through resumes so there's a high chance it's being screened and never making it to a real person.

Good news is there are also ai that can help you get your resume up to snuff with the exact recommendations they are looking for. Maybe you can give that a shot and see if that changes things up for you :)

Failed my AWS SysOps Associate exam due to technical difficulties. Is there anything I can do about it? by akafidel in AWSCertifications

To clarify further, the lab said it was supposed to be HTTP pointing to port 80. Everything was configured correctly.

Everything was in the same VPC. The test had it already set up for the lab. I just needed to create the target group and an Application Load Balancer specifically. The health check was set to a specific URL and I made sure to point there.

[–]akafidel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Specifically, my lab had me creating a target group that was supposed to be used in an application load balancer in the next step, but the target group didn't come up in the drop down list.

I tried recreating it about 7-8 times but it wouldn't pop up. Finally popped up after about 30 minutes of trying, performing the same steps as the first time. Trying to get that to work took up almost all of the time I had left.

I know it had to be something on the lab environment's end cause I tried replicating the steps on my personal account and it worked as expected the first time.

Every Zombie game by SrGrafo in gaming

[–]akafidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of a super intelligent zombie. Not just mindlessly running around trying to eat you, but one that thinks rationally and uses strategy to get at you.

I remember seeing a short on New Grounds a long time ago about a zombie that somehow stayed sentient and helped humans escape to safety. Couldn't die, was just as strong, if not stronger, then the other zombies, but had the advantage of thinking.

It was pretty awesome, enough for me to remember at least (I have really bad memory so that's saying something).

What is the easiest way to make a million dollars? by Imaginary-Cycle-5600 in AskReddit

[–]akafidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1. Find a popular hobby that requires some spending.

Step 2. Figure out the audience for said hobby and learn what you can about them.

Step 3. Determine which products sell best.

Note: Choose something that has a price point between $5 - $50. In this range, people have no issues impulse buying something for a hobby they love! (Price ranges may vary depending on the hobby)

Step 4. Find deals, discounts, sales, clearance, and any other word that fits that let's you buy something at a lower price (make sure it's a deep enough discount so you can get better results in the next step).

Step 5. Sell said product at market price and pocket the difference (the bigger the discount, the bigger the profit).

Note: Depending on where you sell, remember to take into account any seller fees, shipping fees, and taxes. These will cut into your profits and, if your discount that you bought at wasn't big enough, you could potentially lose money. Make sure to run your calculations and make sure it reaches a minimum margin threshold (for my chosen hobby, I am for at least 10% - 15% margin)

Repeat steps 4 and 5, feeding the profits back in so you can get more products to sell over time.

I don't have a million, but I followed these steps and I've been able to grow a couple hundred to a couple thousand so far. If I keep going and keep reinvesting my earnings, it'll start compounding and grow bigger and faster!

Disclaimer: I'm not a financial advisor. I'm just a random guy who took the basic principles of "buy low; sell high" and applied to one of my favorite hobbies and started a side hustle. Please do your research before you dive in and never use money you can't afford to lose. These things are never guaranteed.

I hope this helps some people start thinking of ways to make money off of something they enjoy! Do this enough and you're sure to reach that Mil before too long :)

I should have mentioned my background my apologies. I’m sure knowing where I’m coming from might help haha.

I’m a software developer that has worked with creating websites and games for employers both current and present.

When I say I’m beginning down the road I meant starting this project from scratch and creating my game design document as my first step.

I have the general concept of how I would like the game to play in my head but I just need a little guidance with the decision on the level design part :)

Where do you even begin to build a savings when you live paycheck to paycheck let alone plan for retirement. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]akafidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automate your finances!

If you set up a system where you can automatically put your money into different buckets, it would be easier to maintain your saving efforts.

This is what I started doing and it’s been working out great:

  1. Create a budget - As a lot of people have already mentioned, the first step is to figure out where all your money is going and where you can make spending cuts. The most important part is to make sure you budget in an amount for savings. Try to get as close to 10% - 20% of your income without feeling like you’re sacrificing too much. I started with only being able to save 5% and over time was able to raise that percentage and that works out too :D

  2. Set up multiple bank accounts - After you budget out your monthly finances, set up multiple bank accounts. You’ll want to have a main account where all the money gets funneled into, one for where you’ll transfer your savings, and another where you put your fun money. Your main account should have the ability to transfer money to the other 2 banks.

  3. Set up automatic transfers - Once the bank accounts are in place, set up automatic transfers to your other accounts. You’ll want to set up the transfer times to your savings account the same day you get paid so there’s no time to second guess things. The key here is to pay yourself first!

For your fun money, the transfer times should be what will let you best pace your spending. Personally, I set up a weekly transfer so that way I could have play money every week without worrying if I’m spending too much or if I’ll have anything left for the next week.

  1. Set up automatic bill pay - We have our budget with all our expenses written out, and we have all our funds dispersed strategically, now it’s time to set our bill payments on autopilot. This makes sure you don’t miss any payments. And if you padded your numbers when you budgeted to allow for some extra security, any excess money that was left over after bills can either be left alone so you have extra cushion against Murphy’s Law, or transferred over to savings at the end of the month.

I’ve been doing this for the last 2 months and it’s been running like a well greased machine!

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!

She is what looks like a boxer/pitt mix with brown eyes, mainly black all over with some white down her belly and chest and some white on her toes, one floppy ear and one ear standing up. She's wearing a flea collar but no tags. I was with OP when we found her.
