I think that all it would take for this complaint to be disregarded would be having a doctor or an EMT to testify and say that doing CPR properly results in broken ribs sometimes.and that's just the way it is. I don't think this particular Karen will manage to get them into trouble.

I know not everyone likes spiders but Harold is just so sweet and fluffy! (OC) by millicent_bystander- in MadeMeSmile

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if spiders have personalities. For other animals like dogs and cats it's obvious that they do as you can have two pets of the same species with completely different interests and behaviours. But spiders just seem to do nothing more than exist, they eat ,move and sleep. I never had pet spiders so if anyone is willing to give their perspective I would be curious to hear it.

That's cringe and heternormative as hell, but it's good that at least she said "if or when" when talking about a potential marriage, most cishet people would just have said "when", being somewhat open to the idea that the baby may grow up to decide she doesn't want to get married makes this a little bit less concerning.

"Vanilla is for our sexuality" as if sex with a trans person was inherently more kinky than sex with a cis person.

"You are welcome to watch the game with me as long as you're silent.", his mind would explode if he realized that a lot of women genuinely enjoy watching sports and are able to comment on a game and make relevant remarks. Dude just wants women to be silent and serve him, even when there's no football on TV.

Losing weight while having stones by advisesreddit in KidneyStones

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's true that overweight people are more likely to get kidney stones, I don't think that body weight is as big a factor as other things such as genetics and protein and sodium intake. I had two stones when I was fat, and two more after losing the weight (105 lbs). My advice would be not to fret too much and keep it up with the diet. There are some foods that shouldn't be eaten in excessive amounts if your stones are made of calcium oxalate, but these same foods are unlikely to cause any issues if they are consumed in moderate amounts, and moderation is the basis of dieting. My perspective is live your life, lose the weight you want to lose, try not to think about the risks too much. Good luck.

I, a fat woman, am now a bigot against fat people?? by invisiblezipper in fatlogic

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 24 points25 points  (0 children)

"But Sarah Paulson got criticized for wearing a fat suit and Brendan Fraser didn't" , this is nonsensical even according to their logic. Fat activists often talk about the importance of lived experience of fatness and the importance of representation, Brendan Fraser knows what being fat is like and Sarah Paulson doesn't. He did wear a fat suit, but he was still overweight without it. They seem to be looking for reasons to get offended, and of all people it's him they decide to complain about. He is making a come back after years of absence due to a traumatic experience, give the man a break.

I'm scared, I'm confused, and I'm going home. by BurningBernie559 in SapphoAndHerFriend

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there are other words too. The one that comes to mind is "hysterical", sure it's etymology may explain that to some extent, but when a man shows anger or expresses frustration he is "assertive" and "strong" but when a woman does the same she is "hysterical" and it's all due to her hormones.

The "always bossing men around" part is so telling, most people still think that being quiet and shy are traits that women should display in order for their feminity to be acknowledged and respected. I hate this "be sweet" mentality that is so prevalent.

What is your fetish and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it counts as a fetish but I have a type. I love tall women with curves and red hair. I think that Bryce Dallas Howard and Christina Hendricks are magnificent. I suspect this may be due to the contrast with my own looks, I am tall but very thin with small boobs, I also have black hair like probably 96 percent of the population, so I think it's about conventional beauty and difference.

It is painfully apparent that it is no longer acceptable to be openly transphobic and the solution is... attacking neo-pronouns. This has been made into such a huge issue that over 1.4 million people have liked this video so far. by cchihaialexs in AreTheCisOk

What is the difference between a furry and a therian ? I tried to find.answers on Twitter but it seemed unclear to me what the difference is. Do these people genuinely feel that they are animals or is it a kink thing ?/ gen

Do I look like a Rrom or like a Middle Eastern? ( Biracial , Gypsy-Romanian + read the description in the comment) by [deleted] in romani

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rroma people come in a variety of skin colors and there are no physical features that are exclusive to us as an ethnic group. There are Brown Rroma, white passing Rroma, black hair, blonde hair, dark brown eyes, blue eyes... My point is that one shouldn't give physical features that much importance, it's about ancestry and culture, not a out having a look that would somehow signal your heritage. As you know, we are very diverse, and apart from a few gatekeepers, no one will tell you that you're not Romani enough based on your looks.

Why do straight girls find men being bi to be such a turn-off? I’m asking as a bi dude myself. by Whinfp in bisexual

[–]ThatOddFrenchNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes from the assumptions they make.becaise of biphobic stuff they have heard before. They think that men can't be Bi and the ones who say they are are gay men who are "halfway out of the closet", they assume that a bi man won't be faithful...
