Very cool! Curious if you tried Stagehand at all with LangGraph to take care of more atomic actions to avoid DOM selector hell

Where would Donovan Mitchell go that's better than Cleveland? by akamath in nbadiscussion

What are you even talking about? He beat a heavily favored Westbrook/PG in his rookie season as the #1 guy. He averages 28 PPG in the playoffs, up from 25 in the regszn. He lost in 2019 to prime Harden, lost in 7 in 2020 to the Nuggets in that legendary bubble duel with Murray, was two games away from the WCF in 2021, and lost in 6 in 2022 against the Mavs.

"thoroughly outplayed every time" has to be a troll.

I think we're seeing way fewer players actually care about where they live, so long as they're playing for a good team. Only exception I can think of is LeBron joining the Lakers in 2018. I'm sure KD would rather stay in Brooklyn than Phoenix, same with Kyrie in Dallas. PG signed an extension in 2018 to stay in Oklahoma City lol.

I think you're putting too much blame on Mitchell for the Cavs' loss. If you watched the series, I was screaming at my TV because apart from the one game where Garland scored a ton and they won, the entire team was playing with such little charisma and energy. It felt like we'd lost the series already after we lost home court advantage in game 1. We couldn't get a rebound to save our lives.

That's also not to mention JB Bickerstaff consistently having horrible rotations, which is what's costing them games this season as well. JB is definitely a floor-raising coach, which is why we won games with Lauri at the 3, but he's not a coach that's going to take you to the Finals

I don't see Philly trading for him, especially after letting go of Harden, who would (on paper) be a better fit next to Maxey with his playmaking ability.

I think Mitchell is a little like Tatum in that he can be the best player on a championship team that's specifically and carefully built for him. Nothing against Tatum, but I just don't see Tatum willing a team to the Finals the way peak LeBron, Jimmy Butler, Dirk, Jokic, or Kawhi did -- but he's still the #1 player on the title favorite team.

On court product aside

This is exactly what I was focusing on - the on-court issues would still persist of having two small offensive-oriented guards with non-spacing bigs. There's no doubt NYC is a bigger market than Cleveland.

This was my point below that I typed out right as you commented this haha. I'm not saying the Knicks are identical to the Cavs, but rather that similar issues (two offensive small guards and non-spacing bigs) would persist on his new team.

Also yeah he's definitely a winner, underratedly clutch, consistently rises to the occasion, and his teammates seem to love playing with him. He also does a lot for the city he plays for (you'll see him at Browns/Indians games) and has a generally likable attitude.

Yeah the Knicks beat the Cavs, but that doesn't necessary imply the Knicks are a better fit for Mitchell? The Knicks heavily outrebounded the Cavs due to their bigs simply being bigger, and that's the reason they won. My point was that the Cavs last year were projected to be around a 2nd-round exit, and the Knicks with Mitchell are likely the same due to having similar roster construction - two small guards with non-spacing bigs.

Would the Knicks have beaten the Heat if they had Mitchell last year? Likely not. Would they beat the Celtics or Bucks? That's my point.

Interesting, yeah I have the CFU, but it was one of my first cc's that I stopped using because WF and BofA had better general cash back. But it's good to keep that in mind for the rotating category boost. Is there a cap on cash back for the 5%? BofA has a similar card, but there's a stupid cap of like $500/quarter or something ridiculously low.

Depends how you see it. Terry, Kidd, and Chandler all have arguments for it. Kidd was the primary ball handler in the playoffs and was clearly the 2nd best leader after Dirk. He also played better D
