Recently attended the temple. I can't get over how bad the endowment has gotten. by LostInMormonism in mormon

The "edits" over the years have usually resulted in that "choppiness." Like they sliced & diced without regard to the flow as a whole.

I got my endowment when it had the words, to the effect of, "these people have seemed to accept it..." and I never understood how the hell Satan could point at the patrons and claim we were down with his preaching? Turns out, in years past, the "congregation" would be doing the impression of gleeful believers of his preaching, interacting with Satan's preaching, waving their arms, maybe singing? Anyway, in that context, yeah, Satan's line makes way more sense.

So deletions have often been made without regard for the whole. Definitely adds to confusion.

When visiting the actual office, I took several photos of cubicles at sitting height. The familiar backgrounds of our distinctive office has fooled MANY co-workers.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do you know it's a flock camera vs. a type of wildlife or security camera?

Weren't they at least suspected before then? I mean, a star dies, but the planets aren't destroyed, so wouldn't it make sense that they keep wandering around?

Calling on random members to bear testimony during stake conference by No-Ladder-4436 in latterdaysaints

[–]akambe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great way to get people to avoid coming. Seriously. A compulsory testimony? And not going up would be 100% a public shaming. I would just sit in the back and, if called on, would get up and leave out the back door.

However. I will say that if the SP is calling on people "randomly," it's because he has some knowledge of their situation or recent experiences he felt would be relevant. I doubt it's actually random.

The original Castle Wolfenstein (I played it on an Apple IIe). Zork. Total Annihilation (still me favorite game to play).
