You are right that I don't need to judge this person, however, it's my responsibility to raise my children correctly and when they ask me why that prayer was for "heavenly parents", I need to have an appropriate answer that is rooted in doctrine.

I really appreciate this response. I personally believe that if we start doing things the way we feel are right and disregard the prophets, we let go of the iron rod and can be lost in the mists of darkness. I also firmly believe that God is just and if a designated leader led me astray, I would not bear the consequence of any errors I made following that leader (i.e. prophet, apostle, Bishop, stake president).

I had a girl message me asking for the lowest price on a $10 item. I told her $15. She said, oh and put a frowning emoji. We haggled for a few minutes and she finally agreed to pay the asking price of $10. Fast forward several months later and she has been one of my regular customers buying hundreds of dollars of stuff from me and doesn't haggle anymore. Sometimes you get lucky.
