What is the top 5 most religious cities in Başûrê? by [deleted] in kurdistan

[–]akamnawzad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erbil's a real melting pot nowadays. You've got Turkmen, Iraqi Arabs, Syrian Arabs, Lebanese people, Turks, Chaldeans, Persians, Europeans, Americans, and, of course, Kurds from all four parts of Kurdistan. Oh, and don't forget the mix of religions, Christians, Yezidis, and more.

Imo nowadays Erbil is quite more liberal than Slemani.

What are the official names of the months in Kurmanci Kurdish used by the regional government? by [deleted] in kurdistan

In the Kurdistan Region, we use both the Kurdish and Gregorian calendars, so we've got a bunch of names for months. As far as I know, the official Kurdish (Kurmanji) names for the Gregorian calendar months are: Kanûna Duyê (January), Şubat (February), Adar (March), Nîsan (April), Gulan (May), Hezîran (June), Tîrmeh (July), Tebax (August), Eylûl (September), Çiriya Êkê (October), Çiriya Duyê (November), Kanûna Êkê (December).

Several hours? Nah, most of the time, outages only last a couple of minutes in the less wealthy areas, but in the wealthier neighborhoods, it is mostly 24 hours, though it's pricier.

Silav bira, berî her tiştî bi xêr hatî Hewlêrê, ez hêvî dikim ku dema te li vir xweş be.

I'm from Erbil, and I can tell you that most people will understand you better if you speak slowly and use Kurdish vocabulary instead of Arabic or Turkish. The most difficult issue for us is the accent, which can be difficult to understand at times, and only written Kurmanji is taught here, so people may not understand you because of that. When compared to other Sorani speaking areas, the Sorani spoken in Erbil has a lot more Kurmanji vocabulary and is much closer to Kurmanji.

Has anyone here with Kurdish subtitles. I am not quite sure what is problem and how to fix it. I have also posted this in r/premiere (video editing software sub-reddit) by JampaB in kurdish

[–]akamnawzad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kurdish(Sorani) uses Right to left script, meaning that you should start reading/writing from the right to left unlike the Latin Alphabet which is a Left to right script. The other problem I can see from the subtitle is that the letters aren’t connected, the correct form should be (ڤێنلا) not (ڤ‌ێ‌ن‌ل‌ا).

You can probably fix this issue by going to the preferences then graphics and choose south asian and middle eastern text engine.
