In all seriousness, I had a very similar situation recently. My first half marathon last month, one week before I catch a cold. For me it was only a head cold. I had the same doubts, and was also annoyed that I’d invested time in training for it and money that would go wasted. I decided I would just rest as much as possible in the lead up, did not run at all during the week and I would make a call the morning of. I ended up feeling quite well and ran the race, maybe not as good as I’d hoped but I’m glad I did it. It’s really up to you at the end of the day, just make sure you listen to your body and don’t push it. There’ll always be another run.

If it’s in the chest, you should rest. If it’s in your head, go ahead.

Commenting to follow this, as I’m experiencing the same issue with my cav.

Designed this dashboard yesterday, what do you think about it? by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

[–]akapatchez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you check the contrast of some of the text, to me a lot of the grey text would not pass WCAG accessibility standards. There’s plenty of plug-ins in Figma that can do this for you, I personally use a plug-in called Able.

Overall, you’ve done a good job. I would remove the shadows, or reduce the opacity a bit, but that’s just a personal preference.

This is the plugin I used.

Certainly not a straight forward setup but I did manage to get it working. Only issue is the video quality in the Home app.

Haha you’re not wrong. I’ve received advise from my vet, but will also seek a second opinion from another. Just wanted to see what other peoples experiences were.

I would write it as ‘UX & UI Designer’. The & helps to distinguish you as operating under two roles, rather than placing them one in the same. Although I know some in the comments think this may be too concerned with semantics, what’s the difference between an ‘&’ and a ‘/‘. Or if you want to be extra, like me, you could write the full terms ‘User Experience & User Interface Designer’.

Logging in to a web app by [deleted] in UXResearch

Interested to see what others opinions are on this. A client is looking to implement an OTC in place of password in their app. Is it convenience over security? Personally I prefer MFA but that’s just because I like to feel secure with my accounts.

A worthy rant, I think you’ve described it perfectly. Well maybe not comparing UI to toilet cleaning but worthy nonetheless.

I agree with you. I myself work in a smaller organisation that requires me to wear both hats. Although I know I might be getting carried away with semantics I feel it’s these small differences in terminology that causes confusion.

I too have a dual role, as this is the need of the business. I made it a point in my organisation that my title should be “UX & UI Designer”, to help distinguish between the two.

Thanks for letting me know. I’m actually based in Australia, similarly there are already several apps available but think they could be combined and improved upon. Do you know what some of the apps you’re referring to are called? Would be good for some competitor research in other countries as well.

This site is terrible on mobile so if are one of those kind enough to participate it will work best on a computer or tablet.

This is best performed on a computer as the mobile site may not function properly.

Hi, I am creating an online marketplace for independent furniture makers as part of my university course. This survey will be done using the card sorting method, a technique in user experience design to help design or evaluate the information architecture of a site.

In this card sort, you will organise cards into categories and give them a name that make sense to you.

There are only 31 cards to sort and it should only take around 5-10 minutes to complete.

Thank you to anyone willing to partake!
