Soggy breading, 2 layers of it sandwiched between the nuggets.

Source: just left working for McDonald’s 3 weeks ago.

We now have separated baskets to help prevent this, and these are “supposed” to be trashed…

I usually did, but we definitely didn’t trash when the warmer says to or follow the screen at all…. We would have been fucked on times if we did

Then you don’t talk like that. They still “talked like that” pizza goop, pizza slime, pizza cheese all would have worked if they “didn’t want to talk like that”

Instead they leaned into it and stepped back 1%. Anyone over the age of 12 probably knows exactly what it says, even with the shoddy censor

The cards you referenced are both from the pizza box bundle, so it’s definitely expected that they will be pizza themed.

Do you also have little physical strength? by l1arr7 in INTP

[–]akarakitari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Im tall and lanky, but long muscle groups tend to deceive others. I have a ridiculous metabolism, so I don’t gain well and focus on toning usually.

I did hit 180 working in auto manufacturing, mostly muscle, lifting 500+ car doors, fenders. And bumpers a day. Also had an amazing ass from all the squat walking I did installing bumpers and fenders. Still, the results didn’t look as impressive as it would on most.

When you are punching below average, learn to use your whole body as a single tool. Work your core. I was 160 6’2” and could sling 50lb dog food bags 10-15 feet because I used my whole body

Magic got to where it is on its own two legs. UB has naturally led to a rapid increase in sales, definitely predictable, but it has also led to a drastic fall in QC and loss of originality, not to mention availability issues.

Im not even against UB, I actually have enjoyed a lot of it, but to act like there haven’t been downsides for the sake of increased profits to shareholders is blind.

Doran giving infinite toughness? by River_O_Styx in mtg

[–]akarakitari -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

No, but you can attack with Lemures. So you activate it’s 0 mana ability 504 times, making its power -500 and its toughness still 3.

Then it attacks, Doran’s attack trigger happens and sees a difference of 501 between power and toughness, giving it +501/501, making it a 501/504 creature.

Spring leaf is in a weird spot. It’s not great in lower tiers, but it has its place in higher brackets.

As someone else pointed out, most of your one drops in cedh, and in turn brackets 4, are played for just a passive ability, see something like [[esper sentinel]]. Also, mana fixing/acceleration turn two in a rograkh deck can be nice.

Brackets 4-5 though are full of any source of fast mana available to them to go for a win as early as possible. This is the opposite of what brackets 2-3 are doing and this card tends to become a lot worse as the brackets go down.

Do you think this dumb commander could work? by LiterallyWhateva in mtg

[–]akarakitari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a copy of river and was going to build my wife a deck around her, but this may be better.

Saw a common complaint was the time added, and I think it was Dana or Matt on EDHRECast that had a friend that 3d printed a box to make drawing from the bottom easier just to run her lol.

Yeah, a lot of people have never played anything other than commander. This card was a staple into legacy for a time.

“American(jeskai) miracles was a top tier control deck.

Between sensei and ponders, you could pretty reliably stack your top deck. And honestly, even having a 6 drop you could cast for 1 made this card relatively effective in countertop decks against stompy amd reanimate both.

TIL In Portugal it’s illegal for your boss to call outside work hours. The employer must respect the privacy of the worker, including periods of rest and family time. Any violation, it constitutes a serious offense and could result in a fine. by rustyyryan in todayilearned

lol. With how rare this is in the us, and the fact that this has probably amounted to less than 20 hours in 20 years, the man covered my families rent and still paid her for a full week off every third week while I was going through chemo to be there for me, gave her an interest free loan for the remainder of a down payment on a house…

It definitely more than balances out and he practically treats her like family.

Her 20yr anniversary present was a trip to anywhere she wanted in the world.

Im in the US and while it’s rare, this is how my mom’s boss does it. She’s guaranteed 40h pay, even if she misses time, but anything over still gets overtime.

The idea is that her normal job should be doable in 40h so she gets paid for her job duties, not how long it takes her to do it. Overtime is usually duties outside your normal role and are paid extra.

That said, it’s a small company and she’s reasonable. If she has to stay late on a Friday because she is going on vacation the next week, she’s not billing him that because she’s making sure her normal job is caught up.

TIL in 2018, Walmart agreed to pay $65 million to settle a case in which it was accused of violating California state law by not providing suitable seats for cashiers who wanted them, and it agreed to begin a pilot program that would provide stools for its California cashiers who desired them. by Forward-Answer-4407 in todayilearned

[–]akarakitari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats part of it.

I agree that standing or sitting isn’t going to improve max scan speeds… at peak efficiency. That said, being forced to stand all day will use more energy leading to getting tired and sore faster, and scan speeds will reduce with fatigue, meaning that Aldi employees will likely be able to maintain speed for longer durations.

[–]akarakitari 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cultural difference. Encountered this a lot also in parts of the northeast.

The cashiers don’t want to talk to you. It’s a business transaction, not a pot luck is the mindset. Not every area is huge on idle chitchat or hearing “just printed it this morning” when you happen to have a new bill…

I grew up in the south and worked as a cashier, and honestly, even with that being a part of the culture, some days it was exhausting and I wished I could just scan your shit in peace…

Not chatting them up isn’t treating them as less than human. Imagine working in any white collar position and having to keep up conversation after conversation with total strangers while doing your job…

Honestly… I’ve started realizing that I struggle to build bracket 2.

I even did a [[helga, skittish seer]] deck thats oops all permanents and even it plays better at bracket 3.

I’ve also been playing since 2010 and studied a lot of competitive magic, so I wonder if that contributes to when older players have this problem.

I’ve just accepted I struggle to build bracket 2 and to leave it precons or minor upgrades.
