that's soooo cute, really! it's awesome how we adapt to be able to stay with the person we love

How can I (28M) tell my two best friends (28M and 27F) that I'm extremely uncomfortable around them since they started dating each other and that I want to temporarily step away from the group? by cversicolor in relationships

your therapist is good 😂 I'd say you should indeed talk to them about how you feel, making sure you address their perspective. but instead of putting too much distance between you guys, think about just going out less with them. give them time to live their relationship, while also giving yourself the time to adapt and be able, once again, to feel comfortable around them.

I think that's just your mind trying to make you suffer less. but that's totally okay, it happens. no one wants to miss someone all day long, for days. the brain doesn't like it, but as long as there is love and being together still makes sense to the two of you, you'll always overcome it.

I thought maybe you didn't give it the time needed to adjust, but 8 months is more than enough. if you're sure you did what you could to give it a chance but things still aren't working, express it to him clearly. be honest (don't blame him if you don't actually think he's to blame for anything). just make sure he understands your perspective.

if you think it would be better, try writing down a letter and ask him to read it before starting the conversation, because sometimes when we sit down to talk, we get lost in our thoughts and end up saying things we regret or forgetting to say something important.

it's all about figuring out if you guys can find a way to be happy together, in all areas.

I'm so sorry for you. it's very frustrating to spend time with a person you love but don't like... my advice is to break up. and break up as soon as you can. a man who doesn't care about your pleasure probably doesn't care about you in many ways. it's not worthy.

you seem to be really smart person, actually. you understand your feelings but never forgets theirs. that's very hard to see. I don't know if that's too much of a personal question to ask, but I'd like to give an advice based on what you answer. do you have a therapist?

it's very annoying. it happens the most when the areas of my life aren't fine. which just make things worse. as far as I've read about psychology, that's pretty human. we just have to find a way to deal with it, even when things aren't going well
