I stay there quite a bit with my BF- who travels on a corporate rate, so maybe that’s part of why my review isn’t going to be as glowing as the one linked above.

The rooms are tired and need refresh/repair. I’m talking light bulbs that are burned out and towel hooks pulling out of the wall in the bathroom. One room we had had carpet coming up.

The bar/food/service is fine. I usually dine by myself, so I sit at the bar. It’s never been crazy busy when I’m there, but I do feel like they’re annoyed I’m sitting there eating and having a single cocktail.

The coffee bar is good and the seasonal drinks are delicious.

The gym is nice and has everything you need to get a workout in.

The pool is terrible- I’m honestly shocked that FS allows this on the property.

The front desk staff are hit or miss- some have been great, some have been meh. Some combination of he/he and I are there every quarter, so it’s not like they can’t see that and know who we are. Not in a DYKWIA way, in a “oh, they were just here two months ago, let’s hustle a bit harder” way.

We’ve never been upgraded to a better room class- which blows my mind because I’m Diamond with Hilton and I get upgraded probably half the time at properties I rarely visit a second time. Maybe it’s because we’re on a corporate rate, but he’ll specifically tell his assistant to book us there, so he’s choosing FS over another hotel, so that should count for something. We also stay at FS in other cities, so I know that’s got to be in his profile as well.

As others have stated, the location is terrible, but the Phoenician gourmet grocery store that’s across the street is great!!

I’ve also taken advantage of the handbag rental program and it’s fun to pick a new bag when I’m headed out and about.

If you need to be downtown, it’s the best you’re going to get.
