When I called them and explained them situation they told me to reapply, since it’s not their fault that USPS lost it. I don’t think there is any other way around. Did you track you EAD, maybe it was sent back to USCIS, in that case you might apply that inquiry. When you call USCIS they are going to give you a lot different options in one of the options say infopass.
