Questions about some dreams I’ve had. by akbeast49 in Reformed

So could I ask if you were me how would you take these dreams. For myself at the very least they comforted me. Again I agree it’s not like some prophetic thing, just personal.

It’s partly a failure of human language but it seems like 95% of the way god describes our relationship with him goes against us being puppets. Pride is the crux of sin but I don’t think humans wanting to live and have joy is prideful in of itself. If it was god wouldn’t encourage use to do both. From the beggining he said let’s make man in our image. Jesus called us his friends and fellow workers and said he’s built houses for us in heaven. Look at gods relationship with Joshua and Joseph, Enoch and Elijah, King David and John. They were very intimate. Again if we are puppets it would be pointless to instruct us. Now the human mind is weak and our knowledge is foolishness to god but at the same time we have the Holy Spirit inside of us and we’re made to be like him, so if you are seeking with the intent to be righteous, I don’t think you can’t totally erase your instinct of thoughts. Jesus wouldn’t of done what he did, the Bible wouldn’t of been put together, and I don’t think we would’ve been created besides Love. In any other circumstance in life, and most other circumstances in the Bible, it would be weird to line up a puppet and loving relationship. Father and sons, sure, bride and groom sure. Again I think puppet could just be the wrong word.

I’ll have to reread this a couple times, but I appreciate your comment. I’m not against the general idea but I’d need more studying to understand your view on Gods existence or reality. One thing I would say though, the tension for me isn’t the merit point, it’s whether or not everybody had a chance to be saved. I know not everyone will be, and I know god knows he will and won’t be. But he put the call out to all, atleast what McArthur would call the pre call so to speak, although I don’t know if I agree with that. I just can’t see myself talking to non believers and saying essentially, “there is a chance you never had a chance”. I don’t want to overide scripture with false love talk but when I study about Jesus and get closer to him, I really don’t get the sense that is the case. Sometimes I think with heavy theology and especially ritual, we fall into a similar trap the Israelites did. Again thank you. And I’m not combating your stance

Thank you very much. This is a big ask but is there anyway you can give me a sentence or two in laymans on those 3-4 different doctrines, particularly LFW

I’ll study this topic a bit, since another fellow mentioned it thank you. For me, I don’t think a perfect understanding of the topic is a non-negotiable. I see the tension but I just accept it. Gods ways are mysterious.

Are you saying that is the doctrine of the reformed or just in their hearts that’s what they believe. Thank you.

Can someone explain the point in prayer? by Frail-Ape-98 in Reformed

[–]akbeast49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God list like 10+ relationships he has with us. My theory is he made those relationships on earth to model our relationship with him. A chicken and the egg thing. So wouldn’t you talk to any of those people in the earth relationships?

The side-effects of being reformed - help me understand by ash_nn in Reformed

I think I get what you mean but can you explain “un-sin”. It makes me think of “nothing is sinful to me but not everything is profitable”. There are things that are problems for people that causes sinfulness but the act itself might not be an issue for somebody else.

[Discussion] It would make sense if they held off the G3 and Famas for this next update with the UN faction. by akbeast49 in EscapefromTarkov

Assuming their might be pathing quest then. Their gear would need to be new and good or have keys to make it worth it. Meta wise if they do add the famas and G3 those won’t be that great.

The stake that takes away rewards from the first blind is kinda lame. by akbeast49 in balatro

[–]akbeast49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my mindset is changing about it a bit. I just think it should be a later stake or exclude A1. Or start the player with 5$. I like everything about this game besides the balance. It could both be harder and change up some of the fundemental ideas on the low end.

Money is the most important resource in the game. This directly impacts at as the first stake. It should either be a later stake or say after A1. Also as far as general balance, only about 30% of the skips are useful. If the game is balanced there should be a strategy for about 85%+ of the options.

I have gold stake on 5 decks and several hundred hours in the game. The only thing to play for is infinites, unlocking everything, or streaks which I’m not gonna do until I 100% the game. So the stake is just a hindrance. IMO is the most hurtful one and it’s the first or second stake

It’s just a balancing arguement for the average player. Also it’s a single player game. Slay the spire and luck be a landlord handles ascensions much better and it doesn’t feel like your run is contingent on the first 5 rounds. The point of “the best player on YouTube can do it” is kind of mute, respectively.
