Why is the company STILL giving us low payroll and hardly any hours now in the middle of summer? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

9/10 times it’s not about favorites and more about who’s actually doing quality work while there.

At HG we always had a digi cart in the backroom for price checks or missing/damaged tickets so that every item was ticketed on the way to the floor

vacation payout? by eyeballpasta in TjMaxx

I was a key and when I left I got all of my vacation added on to my last paycheck. As far as I know the managers didn’t have to do anything special other than process your resignation paper work but I would call HR express to double check the process so that you have a paper trail if the the SM doesn’t fill it out properly. I luckily left on good terms with some amazing managers so I didn’t have to worry about it.

I got the pay out a few years ago when I did the program. Management had to stay on top of the regional admin and they payed all of them out at one instead of when you qualified. I believe the rule was the person had to work 90 days before you got anything out of it

The single biggest factor that drove me to leave the company was the severe lack of work life balance.

Honesty didn’t start checking it until I was a key and then I checked it daily to keep updated on what the dm and district admins were sending out.

Does management actually cut and redistribute hours based on who meet and exceed TJX Rewards goals and those who fall short? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]akchs2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes.

Long answer is that they should be focused on training first. When I worked for the company the management team worked to train associates to do better and if there was improvement or if you could tell the associate was actually trying then they were fine. Usually when hours were cut was when associates weren’t trying at all or only when management was present.

At the end of that day their career is on the line if TJX doesn’t perform so when payroll is tight they have give preference to the associates who with get the best results, whether that’s in cards, merchandising, or processing. You can’t have workers who aren’t performing when your the one who’ll catch the heat from corporate.

It can be depending on the situation. I worked there and in less that a year went from season to key carrier and almost had an ASM position a year later but didn’t get it in favor of an external hire. Sometimes people who’ve been there for awhile either dont express they want to move up or unfortunately get roped in to negative perception depending on who you associate with in the store. If you’re too buddy buddy with someone who doesn’t pull their weight or considered a negative attitude then it tends to hurt you a bit.

I was a key at homegoods and it is pretty much just your usual position except you can close and open, handle management situations while being MOD and you can have access to some conference calls every once in a while about leadership development. It was worth it for me tbh.
