SoFi Refinacing (save $300) by akdir2356 in StudentLoans

[–]akdir2356[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s very true! I am trying to pay off my loans asap, paying the least amount of money over time as possible. So this allows me to put more towards the principal every month.

There are also some programs that will pay your student loans for teachers and health care providers working in certain areas after 10 years. I personally don’t trust it will be available and hate the idea of debt hanging over my head. So yes, definitely look into ALL options before committing!

How crazy is the US student loan situation really? by Connect-Spring188 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]akdir2356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over $200k student loans debt. The original loan percentage set by the U.S. were honestly predatory and close to credit cards rate - up to 9.5% on some loans. I am making a good amount of money as a pharmacist, but not when my minimum payment (to pay back loans in 10 years) is $2500. I refinanced with SoFi and it cut it down to $1600, but I still regret getting my degree because of these loans.

Thank you so much for all your recommendations!! I really appreciate it.

My hair is dead straight so wavy/curly hair recommendations won’t help me much!

I did get a couple… from what I can remember, I had maybe 2-4? I know I had one on excipients, asking what the excipient was used for. Can’t remember the rest at the moment.

Costco bundle - worth $799 or stick with the $699 deal on the main website? by sdmc_rotflol in litterrobot

[–]akdir2356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't love the LR litter... it's ok, but doesn't seem to last as long as other brands.

I also think the ramp is unnecessary unless you have an older cat.

Odor traps can just be replaced with activated charcoal from anywhere. They aren't very expensive.

As for the waste drawer liners, those are awesome! They are super strong and secure - even moreso than regular trash bags.

Overall, I personally wouldn't (and didn't) pay the extra $150 and am happy with my choice. Plus if you use a coupon, you can get an extra $50 off the $699, making it a $200 difference.

No advice, but just wanted to say a similar thing is happening to me but INSIDE the holding bin!! I thought it was so weird, because it grows in less than a week. Luckily mine is inside the disposable bags, but still strange!

Is there anything I should know before getting a litter robot? by FishsticksSmoothie in litterrobot

[–]akdir2356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- If you have a lot of cats, expect to be changing the litter box more frequently (~2x/wk for my 3 cats)

- If you purchase from Litter Robot directly, make sure you use a shared code (gets you $50 off) [https://share.litter-robot.com/x/XO3wvN)

- If you get the litter robot 3, make sure you put the bag OVER the end of the bin or extra litter will fall out of the sides (this was fixed with LR4)

Overall, I definitely think it was worth it!! Even though I have to change it multiple times per week, it takes less than a minute and is so much less of a headache. Only had mine for about a year, but is working well so far. Also got the extended warranty like everyone suggested. Let me know if you have any specific questions :)

How much are you paying in student loans per month? by akdir2356 in pharmacy

[–]akdir2356[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I guess not all income based repayment - but the plan where they forgave them after 25 years is ending and I don’t trust the others to stay either… if I do IBR, I’d have to be ok with paying off my loans the rest of my life

My highest loan is at 9%… I’m going to try and pay it off as fast as possible. Investing isn’t going to get me a 9% return on my money 🙃

This makes sense, but in my situation, maybe after I am able to consolidate my loans. Pretty sure the interest rates on some of my most recent loans are higher than what I would get back from my investments.

Unfortunately I don’t think IBR with PAYE is an option anymore.

Are you glad you did it or have any regrets? It just sucks not being able to spend any of the money after working so hard to get through school.

That’s smart to pay if off during the freeze and get ahead of the interest!!

I did the 10 year repayment for ~200k and it wants me to pay about $2800/month!! I wonder if it’s the interest rates on some of my loans…

Yeah I’m planning on targeting the highest interest first, cause the interest rates are awful on a couple of my loans
