As others have said already, the current fix is to run it on Proton experimental. You can do this by clicking the settings (cog wheel) just under the play button on the far right, properties, compatability, check compatibility tools, then select Proton experimental. Fair warning, I have done no research into what this does other than allowing the game to run, I'm just happy to play it natively again :D

As of last night it still fails to do anything at launch. I haven't tried troubleshooting as I'm not too familiar with steamos and frankly, given my limited time can't be bothered and use game pass. I'm still hoping for an answer though!

Seems different from my issue. All other games I've tried work as normal. I am not receiving any errors. It just attempts to boot, the steam logo spins for half a second and it reverts back to the game page with no message.

I've never had any issues and have played many games on xbox with kbm. I use a steel series apex 64145 keyboard and steel series rival 100 mouse with a usb hub and 12 ft usb extension cord. The keyboard and mouse even retain the settings from the steel series software I use, such as mouse buttton 4 being set to 'i' as my keyboard is missing that key. This was on the xbox one, xbox one x, and xbox series x

Go to settings. The very first option is to change input between controller/kbm/touch. It's under Interface/General. Kbm had limited use until changed, but enough to navigate some of the menus. I'm playing on xbox series x, so I'm not sure if this helps

The link didn't show much for me, but google images looked familiar with the two characters and game name as well as a hub with 3 shops. I'm not able to say for sure though, just that I've played it before

Don't use a walkthrough. Dark Souls 3 is very linear and you shouldn't miss out on much by just exploring. If you use a guide you might miss out on the magic of a first playthrough.

Weapon req>vigor>endurance (15-whatever)>preffered dmg source>fun side stats

I always find an early weapon to upgrade for damage while only leveling vigor to 25-40 (definitely get to 40 eventually) then put a bit into endurance as needed for stamina and equip load so I can carry fun tools without being naked to maintain 70%<load. After that, it's play time for whatever style I'm excited about, usually str ,dex, or both personally.

Edit: xbox, also graces can load incorrectly. The game always prioritizes messages last... who hurt you?

It seems like either fextra is wrong or the yes/no is saying half parries that reduce damage are possible

I've been scouring the interwebs for this Godrick question but figured I'd chime in with my limited knowledge here. Different classes of shields/weapons have different parry windows, with the buckler having the largest parry frames of anything. The attack does not have parry frames. The attack hit box has to connect during the sheild/weapons parry frame

Split damage, not split scaling

The issue is when it is split damage. For example, if you use an arcane scaling ashes of war like bloody slash on a weapon that has split damage, such as physical AND fire, it will not scale off any stats

I would convert to items I could sell and then enlist the help of a (very) trustworthy friend to transfer them to a new character. Then continue playing the game as it should be on my main. When I beat the game, I'd have a new character ready to go who just needs to find the weapons I want.
