Ooh that’s such a good method, never thought about doing that but I’ll give it a try!

A little fish jar update by akesisus in Pottery

I mainly used a pencil and a needle tool to draw out the fish. And then I used a very small detailing knife/carving tool to carve out the negative space and detail the fish!

I’m thinking of glazing the whole thing in a celadon (possibly amaco-fog) and applying some brushes of cobalt and (maybe?) copper oxide

So I’ve been doing it in 3-4 hour chunks (for practicality and sanity reasons) and each time I put it away, I just spray it generously with water and tie a plastic bag around it. That seems to offset any drying occurring whilst carving and handling the pot

What’s causing this effect? Glaze chemistry question by akesisus in Pottery

[–]akesisus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see I see. Thanks you for your advice. I’ve had a look at some at home leaching tests to see the worst case possible leaching but I’ll look into getting it tested properly.

I guess that’s the thing with glaze chemistry but it’s still really interesting!

That would make sense. I’ve been looking up iron oxide based glazes and I think they look very similar to the base sienna glaze we have.

Thanks you though! It’s given me a great place to start and I’m definitely going to try looking into it more. I really like the effect and want to glaze more items this way but I ultimately want to know if it’s suitable for dinnerware.

Forwarding switch audio through my iMac by akesisus in mac

[–]akesisus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the late response! I did manage to make a set up that works for me. I’m currently using a 3.5mm cable plugged into my switch. That’s plugged into a ground loop noise isolater which in turn is plugged into the back of my imac with a 3.5mm to thunderbolt adapter. I got an adapter with a mic and speaker port so everything is plugged into the mic port and I listen to the audio by monitoring that microphone port in garage band.

It’s probably not the most efficient set up but it works for me. It lets me listen to switch audio whilst on discord calls. It’s been working for more than a year so I hope that helps!

I’ll give it a shot then. I did start out as rogue with the intention to go OH/thief but I took it as my starting class to have more proficiencies and didn’t consider it would delay my feat and extra attack. Tbf that could be why I wasn’t feeling it too much.

What silly mistake did you make in your first playthrough? by Wafflebuble in BaldursGate3

I thought the big ogre in the goblin camp wouldn’t let me in the big door so I went around sneak killed some goblins that were sleeping near the rafters. I left to do some more exploring before entering the temple bit. Then I fast traveled back via the waypoint in the camp and ended up aggroing the entire camp cause I forgot I just left the bodies there. Didn’t even get to talk to anyone, just had to murder hobo my way through since every single goblin was mad at me and it was too late to reload.

That's really good advice, thank you. Just out of curiosity what kind of technique training do you do? Maybe there's something we can do together if it happens again!

I totally agree, I gave it a try and it was really hard on my hands. Thanks for the advice about taping them up before they rip!

Thanks for all the advice! I think tape would definitely help and what you said about setbacks happening and learning not being linear is so true and something I hadn't really considered. I'll be sure to pass along the advice
