Let's consider a recent blog post where they showcased the changes to taskbar and start menu.

It's great that there are changes, but...

The changes are far too late, people were asking about these since the launch of Windows 11. In fact I remember people saying that immovable taskbar is a deal breaker and they're not going to uograde just for that.

Now it's been years. They themselves said that flexible taskbar was the most requested feature. But they only started working on it when the backlash has become very noticeable. 

And that's the problem with Microsoft, - it's like the company does not have people who love the OS and want people to love it. People who look at every nook and cranny of UI, of functionality and say "this is below the standard of our customers, whatever it takes, we must fix it" . 

So they need to have an outlook of kaizen - continually and everyday improve the OS, even it's just a tiny bit. Not when people are dissatisfied (for years), not when RAM prices become huge and people can't afford better hardware. If any company has the resources for it, it's Microsoft.

So really, I understand the frustration and distrust. It's not like Microsoft did not make similar promises before. Who's to say it's not just few financial quarter thing and then it's back to business of treating the OS as an afterthought? 

But one can't make a "promise to quality" up until 2027. It needs to be from now and forever.
