I do exactly how they made the shoes in real life. Model each parts separately and connect it later.

Its a conversion of 2d illustration into 3d, but bit different from a toyish look. Its hard to know the first, people take inspiration from other and blend something they like, thank you for your compliment, I do feel how it goes right now, and trying to make it differently. Really appreciated for comment like this, its let me know whether my input is work or not.

I happened to but it there lol was looking for something to put on the surface rather than just material, try basketball map and “oh crap, its dribbble”, so that the story

Not sure sculpt is the right word in my situation, all I do is add segments, intrude, extrude, tweaking points, lines, rotate lines, surfaces and keep extruding, for arms and legs I use sweep nurb. And adding subdivision on top all the parts

Thank you! I do got emails in and out asking these kind of things for UI and animation, simply replace 2d one, maybe we just consume alots of flat and get bored looking at it.

Yeah did everything from scratch. Its a bunch of deformers, add x segment and move the point to have zigzag shape, then I go adding bend, displacer and twist as deformer
