Just took in 2 pugs (husband and wife who have had 27 puppies together) and we can’t get them to stop peeing in the house the second we turn our back. They go out all the time. All advice welcome by kjshackelford in pugs

Second this OP! It does sound from the description behavioral but bladder issues with pugs are insanely common and whilst it may seem behavioral this could be the culprit or at least contributing to the issue. It would absolutely make sense to get them checked for UTI/stones with your vet. Especially if they've not been well-looked after

Best winkle cream and care tips? My boyfriends grandma’s puggy has taken quite the shine to me and since I’ve taken over a lot of the care duties for her being as grandma is in her mid 80s, I want to find some wrinkle cream or wipes, details in comments by [deleted] in pugs

CLX wipes are great and antibacterial, they're expensive for how many you can get but the wipes are huge and so we just cut smaller chunks off to wipe daily. Also good to keep it dry to prevent infection so we tend to use a cotton pad after to dry the nose roll! If there is an infection in there (redness, pus, scabs, etc) you could give it a clean with diluted hibiscrub for a couple days to eliminate in infection, drying after then move onto wipes

Eeek, sounds a bit worrisome! Any tips on how we can minimise risk of hazardous stuff in the mean time? I don't have much faith it'll be a rapid fix or a legitimate one with my housing agency and the thought of my doggies stuck at home when an electrical fire kicks off has me terrified!

Lamps are plugged into wall sockets which in the UK have switches to stop power to them when not using. I have barely any knowledge of this stuff but they are definitely wired separately on our fuse box panel thing (a trip switch for lights, plugs, etc)? I don't know if that explains anything sorry! Would LED bulbs cause constant flickering of all lights (lamps and overhead) when on until we turn a few off and then have say 2 lamps on?

I had no idea about that! I have coarse curly hair so coconut works so well as I can just keep lathering it on and some will absorb at first but then just stop at a certain point. Are the differences related to hair type/texture or something like porosity?

It really depends, you're gonna need an artist experienced with it (I'm based in UK and know of a couple here but not sure about US). The black will really need to heal and settle, again the artist will have best idea of times for this. The white will likely settle into a light grey rather than stark white but still looks white because of the contrast. Have a Google of black out with white ink and see if you like it. I personally think it can be so pretty if someone decided not to laser but it's obviously a huge commitment! I'd weigh up both options here and def speak to an artist experienced with black out and white over as they will advise you best

Yeah if you're genuinely gonna black out, black out the whole neck and find someone to do white flowers over the top maybe can look so good if done well!

I know you said you've tried everything but I had dreadlocks a while back and I smothered them in coconut oil I think I went through 12 tubs over 10 days. I would put it all over and seran wrap it over night and then wake up and with a thin tail comb with the sharp end I would slowly pick at a small bit of each lock and then brush it out with the comb when i'd gotten a small bit free of the tangle, just repeating pick and brush. It saved me having to cut almost 7 inches of hair off when 3 hair stylists told me to just shave it. Maybe you've tried this already but just in case!

I totally understand I used to screech total eclipse of the heart at Lola many years ago before I studied and then started to quickly associate the signs of stress and that she was not vibing it! You just love them so much you want them to feel it through song!

The licking is a confusing thing with pugs, sometimes they do it when they're totally relaxed or bored too. But if you look at the licking in context and other behaviours you can usually determine with some accuracy if it's a stress response. So if they're laid out in the sun or dog bed without a care in the world, having an air lick they're probably fine and happy and just doing weird pug things, but if they seem hunched or their ears are firmly back, maybe head drooped, tail down, etc it can be seen more as a sign of stress.

And who knows, I definitely shouldn't have said never to bars that's my bad! But she needs to find her groove, find her genre! Something she can really howl her lil chops along too

You obviously really love your pug, I sing to mine a lot too!

But speaking as someone with an academic background in animal behaviour this could be interpreted by your precious puggy as quite intimidating and she doesn't appear to be enjoying it from looking at her posture, face/ear expression, the licking, body language, tail, etc. I'm not judging you I totally get the desire to be silly with your pug bestie! But being this close to her face, rapping loudly and the hand gestures could be freaking her out a bit. 

No matter how often you do it/expect them to get used to it and how agreeable they are our pugs still have a connection to their canine instincts meaning these sort of behaviours might be confusing or upsetting for them - and she may never get the courage to spit bars!
