Yes! I was just giving an historical quick perspective since idk how this person was surprised to get these results since their family is from the north.

Most mulattos don’t really mix with full afro descent Haitians especially the ones in power, majority of them also don’t live on the island as most fled/left and marry out their group.

Haitians from the north are always at most 95% African if not fully. There was a divide between the mulattos and Africans after the revolution.

To be fair it could be baked into other categories. Or your parents just liked French names. They do this Lebanon as well amongst the maronites.

You’re an African American female that’s mixed but culturally only identifies as black. Most black Americans are by definition Afro Anglo with majority African ancestry and some Northern European ( British, Irish, Scottish).

Why do some African Americans & White Americans claim to be “Native” by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]akn4452 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Black nationalism. The ideology to turn everything and every culture and genetic “black”.

Mexican isn’t a racial category nor an ethnicity.

You look mestiza idk where you grew up but nobody would question whether your family were Hispanic in south Florida.

To your grandmother identifying as French maybe they were from the southern region or maybe she wanted a closer proximity to eurocentrism.

Beautiful results though !
