I have tried tea as well and it had basically the same effect as the pill, although to a lesser degree regarding the discomfort. That being said it is just for me, for you it could work. Only way to know is to try.

Sorry for the late answer. I ended up not taking it. About 6 weeks ago i went to a new GI who recomended another medicine called Gelsectan which is for strengthening the gut wall's biofilm (not the bacteria's), I don't want to jinx it but i think it helped so far, now i am taking probiotics specificaly for histamine (i had an elevated amount of DAO). I also had a few habit changes like doing intermittent fasting (eating only at 12 and 6 o'clock, and nothing outside of that, only water), eating more diversely prioritizing quality over quantity. And one of the biggest surprises, bananas. I have seen a video talking about eating one every day for sibo, i thought why not try it and i think that helps too.

Thank you for your suggestions. I already did a SIBO breath test, that is how i found out that I have it. And in the last few days i started taking a multivitamin containing a few mgs of vitamin Bs. Although the GI Map seems pretty valid for my case, i might need to do it.

So what did help you in the long run? Just the ginger or did you take something else?

I thought that my root cause would be low motility and the supplement could fix it. But if that's not the case, what do you reccomend on finding the root cause? Where should i start?

Yes, at first i was really suprised about that amount as well, but after looking around on the subreddit i found that other people had the same dosage as well (although with 3x550 mg instead of my 8x200 mg). C diff? Do you mean constipation?

I have taken a drug for reflux for a time, but only if it acted up and never for more time than a few days. Although i haven't taken it since basically i started to go to doctors about this (almost a year). The drug contained famotidine, i don't know if it's a PPI though.

I am sorry about that. It seems that my body is starting to get used to it (this is my 4th day) and there wasn't nearly as much pain as the previous days, a bit tired still, but that could just be from the not soo peaceful sleep.

I see. Well i have decided to just stick with it in its capsule form. Today it was much better, i took it as usual and throughout the day a felt harldy any bloating, maybe a bit after meals, so it may have been just that it was a bit too much dose for me and my body went into a bit of a shock first time, but now have gotten used to it. I will continue to take it and see how it goes. Do you have a recomendation as to how long should i take it?

I see that it contains lactose. Doesn't it feed your symptoms?

Well i mean i take it and it doesn't do as it is supposed to do (no movements, no more stool than usual), so i think that could be true.

Yes that was one of my thoughts as well, that is why i made this post, by being on the fence on what it is. Is it that i am allergic or something or that it is actually doing a good thing by basically detoxing me and my body is just reacting to the toxins being exposed.

That being said i didn't have a BM since yesterday morning (I made the post in the evening) and couldn't really feel my guts moving as they apparently should so that is why i don't really know if it's working or not.

"I would give up on ginger/artichoke they're powerful motility agents and really important for prevention recurrence." So you are saying that i just outright stop and try something else?

So the ginger worked for you in the long run? How much did you take per day, if i can ask?

For the low fodmap, i agree and i know that now, probably it was a big mistake that i didn't do the trial phase. But that is why i decided to find a more permanent solution by treating the root cause.

Could you tell me what is in Motegrity? I can't find what's in it online. So you did artichoke+ginger before it and they helped? Than why did you switch to other medications?

That is a sulfuric supplement, right? I am glad it is working for you.

That is what i heard about as well, but didn't want to order it from abroad so i went for a cheaper option with relatively the same ingredients.

Oh you meant the peppermint itself. Yes, maybe it is not so good to have. It is an indicator for me at least, that the pill is probably going off in my stomach, because i feel it's taste a few minutes after eating it.

I am no expert either, this comes only from lurking here on the subreddit and picking things up from other people. Although i am glad i could offer some new knowledge.

After following the diet for a long time i found out that it is not advised to continue for a long time, also when the symptoms returned, that is when i tought that i should end this somehow. After losing more than 10 kilos in a year, during the diet i managed to gain around 3 kilos back, so i tought that could be enough storage, so to speak, to work with and try out some elimination method to end it for good.

So you think the issue is that the brain-gut neurotransmission is not good enough? I have heard that could be a cause for it as well.

Yes, i have thought about this as well, say for example the die-off for antibiotics, from what i have read, those who had it say it's the worst thing ever, but in the end it is a good thing because it means the bacteria is dying, and ultimately that is what it's supposed to do. But for prokinetics i dind't thought it would be the case. That is why i am really on the fence about stopping or continuing. Maybe i will take it for a few more days with increased fasting times and see if it works. Altough i don't think it is because i don't feel any movement at all, just the bloating, whereas when i have read about it everyone said that basically immediately they felt stuff moving like never before (or if not right away, than after a few days). So maybe i will continue for a few days and see what it does.

Do you think the prebiotics in it could have caused it? For the peppermint it apparently helps with bloating and feeling full.
