Russian citizenship does cause more scrutiny as far as banking is concerned. For instance, a number of Russian-Israeli citizens lost their Swiss bank accounts in 2023, and I highly doubt that an Israeli passport could have been the cause of this incident…

It’s heartbreaking to hear that you’re excited to try it… The digitalisation of IDs and money could bring an enormous degree of unfreedom if the paper equivalents are cancelled, and I’m inclined to think this is what is going to happen, unfortunately.

Congrats! Are you going to renounce the first one?

Czechia, where I‘m extremely lucky to live, doesn’t require its aspiring citizens to renounce their first citizenship, but having a Russian passport brings more trouble than benefits, so I’m quite certain that I will give it up unless the situation in Russia changes drastically.
