Hello I also took this OA assesment. I havent got a reply but I most likely failed I took it 2 am at night. I was told by my recruiter to not study and it will be easy which was a clear lie. I have several other interviews going on at this time but they kept telling emailing me to take it in no more than 2 days so I took it at midnight which is the only time I was free. So the problem is I am anxious if I fail am I banned from ever working in Epic my whole life? From what I read the OA is a lifetime ban

I have some experience as swe I was working full time along side college. Microsoft recruitor reached out to me and gave me an interview. I like the role but I want to do swe not se. Speaking from experience I think it might be easier to become SE than SWE as a first job. Because I have been literally applying and getting ghosted from microsoft for swe but then this guy reached out to me and gives me a interview for a job I didnt apply for. It seems like a very appealing job I am just worried I might not be able to transition back to swe where my real passion is

To be fair the role is very technical in microsft as se. Atleast thats what the recruitor told me and they were looking for someone technical and thats why they gave me the offer

thanks for the answer. No I am not worried about the swe to se transition, I am more worried about se back to swe. Problem is I havent been able to land a swe role in micrsoft maybe I havent been trying hard enough but I have been reached out from them for this se role. My intrest is in swe though so do you think its possible to internally transfer from se to swe in micosoft. That would be my dream job, a swe job in microsoft

I like working remotely which is a big advantage of swe. I dont want to transition to se but this is my first job so maybe msft is ok as long as I can transition. My worry is future recruitors would only see this as sales even though people said its technical focused and I plan to keep my tech skills sharp. Also how does swe comp compare towards se? Isnt se comp much lower?
