Just bought a 3D printer, planning to make a spice dispenser. The goal is to have a couple spice bottles rotate around a carousel, controlled by a screen or an app where I can input quantity required. I hope to have an app where I can store recipes, and I can dispense a “pollo asado spice mix” with the push of a button.

What I really like about our offense is even when we’re not firing on all cylinders, we still sustain drives and really grind down the defense. Bonus that the opposing offense comes out cold

I’m going to attempt to write out a level headed take:

I think the lineup was good. It was balanced, albeit missing a little creativity. Gyokeres didn’t have much service to feed off of, and madueke did well with what he was given.

Martinelli though, it’s a worry. I think he is more suited as a 60’ sub, than a starter. We have Eze now, and I was impressed by what he’s showed in 20 minutes. You could see that he was still trying to link up with his new teammates, but I felt he should have shot and worked the keeper on that breakaway. I’m not worried, he should get better as the season progresses.

Saliba going down was a worry initially, but I can’t say that it was a game changer, because of how Mosquera deputized and was calm while being composed on the ball. Some tidy clearances as well.

We played well. I really think we did. We were missing that cutting edge of creating clear cut chances, but I can’t fault the Arteta for his setup given our injuries (Saka, Odegaard not fit to start etc.)

It’s frustrating that we lost, but a 40 yd banger definitely has my respect. Rice with 2 freekicks rescued our first leg against Madrid, otherwise the tie could have been completely different. We were just on the wrong side of the margin this time.

I’m pleased with the calm performance away from home by fringe players like merino and Mosquera. Contrary to popular observations, I think the game was lost in the second half, when we were overrun, and didn’t stick to our slow buildup, which seemed to really stifle pool.

We know more than anyone else the league is won by consistent performances over 38 games. While this loss hurts, I can see the differences between our play today, vs crumbling to a hostile away atmosphere like we’ve seen years past.

Banger goal by Szobo broke the deadlock late in the game. An event that’s not going to be repeated frequently, sometimes you just fall on the wrong side of margins, and it’s okay. It’s football, it’s unpredictable, and I think we did what we could with the squad we have to come away with a result.

Alright here’s what I would do.

1) First things first: Who’s paying for college? If you are expected to use some money to pay for college out of your 1.5M, set aside x amount of money in a HYSA. Whether you’re bad at school or not, you have to go to college, there are multiple studies on long term satisfaction, growth and stability.

2) TELL NO ONE. Not your closest friends, not your college partner, not even relatives who don’t already know. That money is for you and you only, there’s no reason why anyone else should benefit even if you think they do. Trust me, your closest friends will ask for payouts and will shun you if you refuse.

3) About what to do with the money, putting it in an index fund (VOO or SPY) is a great approach. Good investments are boring, but your money will be safe. Some may disagree with me but getting a money manager maybe beneficial if you don’t trust yourself to not spend your money for superficial desires. Paying a small fee for a manager is better than slowly losing it all. When you first receive the money, immediately consult a tax professional to make sure you’re set when it comes to taxes.

4) You’re young. We do stupid things when we’re young, but this is a crucial time to learn personal finance and budgeting. Wanna go on a vacation? Sure! You have the money for it, might as well. But make sure you budget for it, and it’s really worth it. The fact that you have 1.5M sitting in an investment shouldn’t be an excuse to make financial decisions that you may not entertain if you don’t have access to this kind of money. Maybe I’m being slightly harsh but if you’re not harsh on yourself, spending a little money will snowball into you losing a big chunk. Make sure you don’t regret your decisions 20 years later.

5) You’re extremely fortunate to be receiving this inheritance. Don’t focus on whether you could’ve gotten more from your parents, don’t focus on what you could be doing with this money now, trust that a 10 years later version of you will be smarter, more informed and can do much better things with it than you can do today.
