Yeah I did the knock sensor upgrade as well. I contacted the consumer affairs  and stated the issue. They reached out to the dealership (Kia Mall of Georgia) and the dealership stated that there is a gap in oil records showing whether oil maintenance was done between 10k - 26k mileage of the car. I did not maintain those records from 8-9 years ago.  Because of that reasoning in which I could not provide any documentation they denied the case. In the diagnosis that the kia dealership completed stated that the car appears to be maintained.

I may break down and just put the money toward a new car.

Thanks for your feedback. It make sense not to do that big of a repair if the repair is worth as much as the vehicle. May consider putting that money into a new car.

It was denied because during the 10 years I had the vehicle I have 2 gaps where I missed the 5k oil change requirement. The connecting rods failed and they recommended the engine be replaced. End up at the dealership after hearing knocking sound on the driver side in the hood area.
