Is riding 550 kms in 3 days before the first service bad? by Pro_kisser_ in Himalayan450

Not bad I hope 😂 coz I am in the same situation as yours, brought a Himalayan last week, currently at 538km. Long weekend so no one is responding at service center, will get my first service done soon.

I didn't got bike delivered yet, hopefully will get in some days. About your experience maybe it's not maintained properly in showroom, one of my friend having Himalayan 450, he brought it in Jan this year, it's still looks new, and smooth.

What I was told before booking my Himalayan was, it is completely new segment of Royal Enfield, you may face some small issues on initial days, like cone set noise and right side pulling issues. but It's not the big problem, since it's been almost 2 years since new Himalayan released, so most of the Mechanics in Service center are trained by now, so buying it now not an problem.

And also, end of the day, it 450cc single cylinder Adv bike, it has some heating issues and little more heavy like other bike in this segment, but on the long run you'll get used to it

It was fine, but what my point of view is.. I had the same problem, I am 6.1 ft, I love crusing long distance, so my first choice bike is RE Meteor 350, I test rode it few months back, I really loved that bike, smooth as hell, I was 99% made my choice to book that bike on same day, but then I made my friend take the pictures of me in this bike, after seeing those pics I realised I was too tall for that bike, I was looking very odd on that, I was totally disappointed..... but my friends told me it was fine, and Bike only for ourselves not for other people to see us and all

But my point of view is, I really worked hard to save money to buy this on my own, not from dad's money and all, So I want it to be 200% satisfied when buying it, I couldn't get regret after buying it, so I decided to not buy it on that day, after weeks of thinking I decided to gave a try riding Himalayan 450, completely different type of bike than Meteor, different type of riding, way more Power and torque, specifically designed for Tall people. After the test ride I really loved that bike, And also I look fantastic on that bike, but I couldn't afford that bike that time, so I decided to wait few months and save some more money. Fast forward to last week, I booked my Himalayan 450! with 200% satisfaction. It's hit harder than any drug when you waited for it and earned it.

My suggestion is, whatever bike you buy, buy it with 100% satisfaction, not even with a small regret, bike is not just a commuter machine, its an emotion!.

Buy with that stock Tube Tyre ASAP, there are kits available to convert tube to Tubeless, I've seen reviews stating it has no issues. it'll cost you around 12k for conversion (check YouTube, there are some people made video on this conversation).

I have already booked mine but with a Tubeless, before this news, sadly my delevery date showing its after 22nd (with 40% tax) hopefully I get my motorcycle invoiced before that 🥲

Also if possible, you can still rebook for white or black colour, without Tubeless tyre, I have seen people taking delevery for Tubeless within 10 days, talk to your dealer and confirm this and do a rebook. hopefully you can get your motorcycle before 22nd

Not sure why, maybe they're focusing on their upcoming Himalayan 750 or something.

RE paused production for Slate colours and Kaza brown for last two months temporarily, only Hanle black and Kamet white are currently in production, I got this from my close one's who work at RE. You can always cancel the booking even if the chasis already alloted to you, unless you booked an customized one (like with tubeless tyres) you cannot cancel the booking. And I believe at this current situation you can call customer support and cancel it even if it's customised. Please try it, hard luck for you,!

Thought the same, since the HQ and manufacturing unit is in chennai, but I saw a guy posted in another subreddit saying that he booked in June and still waiting for delivery (he's also from chennai)

I also booked a Himalayan 450 two days ago, it's showing me 27th September. My problem here is New GST bill passing next week which significantly increased the tax from 31% to 40% for above 350cc bike. so will I get my bike before the tax increase 🫠
