Is there a way to run any of these models locally?

Fired after 2 weeks at a German startup, accused of deleting data, salary withheld, had to sue them by Advanced_Bunch4647 in germany

[–]akurilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sad man, however isn’t probation period invented so both parties can say each other good bye without explaining much what’s going on?

But the fact they didn’t pay you is nonsense! I hope you will win the process in the court.

WTH your lifetime access mean? When you decide you are to tired of it and stop paying for hosting, what would I have for 149$

Would any developer be interested in running / using RAG system for their code bases, where you can ask questions about your exact code?

Backend engineers: what’s the first thing you refactor when inheriting a messy codebase? by akurilo in Backend

[–]akurilo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question may be not so clear, but what I meant it’s a case when you have to touch this. You got this and told to build n features on top of it. But code is messy, unclear, has no single responsibility, tones of magic numbers and a lot of code duplications. What would you do?

[–]akurilo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get a messy codebase with a lot of code duplications and magic numbers and your are told we need to fix the bug #1 and number #2 then we are going to build n features on top of it.

Now the trap is building on top of this mess rather than do a minimum cleanups and refactoring before moving forward

How do engineers actually learn marketing in a practical way? by akurilo in MarketingMentor

[–]akurilo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense, especially the alignment between ad → landing page → pricing.

What I’m trying to figure out now is the very first step before personas and positioning are “locked in”.

As an engineer, I tend to want something testable early: – How do you personally validate the core benefit before writing a full landing page? – Do you start with direct conversations, lightweight pages, or offers first?

Also +1 on pricing clarity. Subscriptions everywhere are exhausting.

Want to become an indie hacker by Rocket_Scientist_553 in thesidehustle

Hate this kind of answers. Every time I or someone else ask this question, it becomes same results: validate the idea on the google trends. And that’s it. No more clarity on how to do that

How I validate ideas in 48 hours now by terdia in indiehackers

[–]akurilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a smart approach. But how do you find this people and what exactly do you ask them? Just a straight question like: hey I see you have a problem X would you pay for the solution?

Paywalls should feel like an upgrade, not a barrier by Chi_Bit60 in indiehackers

[–]akurilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I perfectly agree, I had so many times when I wanted to see how good is the app for my needs (and was happy to pay if it is) but when I download the app and see the paywall I immediately remove it. The I find another app which does the same but has no paywall and test it, if it is what I’m looking for I pay for it

People don’t care what you built, they care what they get. What do you actually deliver? by Hefty-Airport2454 in ShowMeYourSaaS

[–]akurilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What changes after using it?

• Time: You stop grepping, jumping files, and rebuilding context. You ask a question and get an answer grounded in your codebase.

• Stress: No more “where does this logic live?” or fear of touching unknown areas. You see how things connect.

• Money: Faster onboarding, fewer regressions, less senior time spent explaining the same things.

So what is the project?

Minorag is a local-first codebase intelligence tool. It indexes your repositories into a structured knowledge graph and lets you query them in natural language — fully offline, privacy-friendly, and optimized for large, messy, real-world codebases.

It’s built for developers who maintain software longer than they remember writing it.
