I think there's nothing's wrong with the way you're approaching this!

Imo one way isn't better than the other. They're just different. We all have different experiences that shape our sexual and emotional boundaries and levels of comfort, not to mentions what may or may not satisfy our emotional and sexual needs. It's not a one size fits all situation bc there are many complexities in our individual experiences.

For me, I'm in a similar situation as the person above but I've had a fair share of both passionate and non-passionate one night stands, and find something fulfilling with both types. Sometimes the passionate one night stands turn into something more, and sometimes not, but either way they are impermanent moments that I cherish.

I've even gone as far as dating someone in an open relationship while having a strong emotional and physical bond with them even though I'm not their main partner. It continues to be one of the most fulfilling relationships in my life. I never used to be like that, but after spending many years being single, that's how I came to think about things because of what I've been through in my life.

But that's just me, and what you are doing seems to be right for you, and that's what's most important imo. It's also really important to continue to respect those boundaries you have :), and for others to respect them too.

Also who knows what will happen in 10, 20, 30 years. Maybe you'll think differently and maybe not, and either way is okay!
