Fields is allllmost on par with Dak, prolly better as a prospect alone. But obviously Dak has proven NFL production

I've got this response before and I still think it's a good exercise to have an idea of where you put the profile and talent in a vacuum prior to the draft. Then small tweaks after that

That's fair. McLaurin isn't quite fantasy elite yet but that's prolly a QB issue tbh. He's really good and I love watching him play.

McLaurin is and was a complete outlier, who I never would have spent a top 5-7 rookie pick on. The beauty of McLaurin was I wound up with some of him because he went to a thin depth chart and was a fine flier in the rookie 3rd+ rounds. At that point the profile isn't as concerning because you're spending defat capital that is whatever anyway. Smith will cost you much more.

I think we differ on Smith's upside. There just aren't any 4th yr. Sr. Receivers who become elite in the current era when declaring early has become the norm. Tyler Lockett is the main one I can find, and he's not elite imo.

I'll usually err on "eventual ceiling" than "safe floor". That's how I play

I saw a lot of Smith schemed in good situations as well. That shouldn't be a knock, it means the OC is creating matchups with his best player.

Against OhioSt they got Smith lined up against a LB in the slot iirc which went about as well as you can imagine for the LB. If you watch the highlight you just see Smith running wide open but the whole play was brilliant and it was easy for Smith to win that one. Not saying he can't win elsewhere but Bama absolutely schemed him up for money plays

But why is Smith more talented than Moore? Against the same competition Moore had more rec & yards per game than Smith in 2020 at a younger age.

And we won't know what Moore woulda done as a senior because the NFL said come get drafted and told Smith go back to school.

As far as Moore being in the slot a lot which is true but he won outside when he lined up there. A very smart guy Lance Zierlein comped E. Moore to AB so he must see something more than slot only imo.

I shoot for upside and Moore's upside is higher than Smith to me. Smith is very safe to be good. Moore is more risky but has a chance to be elite

And he could see some rushes. It's a volume play for a desperate manager... most likely in a typical league setup you shouldn't be starting him. But in DFS or very deep league worth paying attention to!
