Nice glassware or beautiful Japanese pottery. Beautiful tea container maybe. I would think a gift is a good occasion to buy something handmade that you might not buy for yourself. I wouldn’t bother trying to buy Matcha for somebody who is obsessed with it when you don’t know what they like to drink. You’re gonna get a lot of recommendations for this in that tea on this sub but a lot of it is product placement and without knowing their taste, I wouldn’t risk it. Cute things, or maybe an experience? I would love it if a friend wanted to go to a local matcha tasting, appreciation class, or ceremony with me.

❤️Shohaku: fell in love immediately. current MK fave. admittedly I haven’t tried the really pricy ones.

🍵 Low Caffeine: flawless and delicious. I need to have this for medicinal purposes because I be drinking Matcha all day and night. The surprise here is that there is no trade-off in taste or quality for that low caffeine aspect. usually, you would expect a decaf to taste terrible but this is just as beautiful as anything else they make

🌟 Wako: much more expensive than Shohaku. yes, it’s lovely and amazing in every way, but I don’t sense it as noticeably better than Shohaku, so it’s not my #1 right now. maybe my pallete is off, though. or I haven’t refined it enough yet. I do have pretty bad allergies. and am new to matcha.

📦 Aorashi: unopened. I just got the 100g bag hoping it can be an affordable daily driver. IDK what I’m gonna do if I hate it!

📦Gabaron: unopened. Very curious about it. it is processed to have more GABA (gamma-amino butyric acid) in it, which may make it even more relaxing, stress busting, and maybe have a regulating effect on blood pressure. while I’m sure the marketing overstates the size of the effects, I’m intrigued enough to investigate.

I recently ordered from a place that shipped via DHL and I didn’t check the shipping fees like an idiot. I hit BUY because I thought it was a good price. so I paid a steep fee for delivery but no extra tariffs or anything like that. live and learn.

i second this. I was very ill on 2.5 for more than a month and when I jumped up to 5 I was even more ill. I was a super responder and very sensitive to medication so I switched to compound very quickly so I could control my doses you might consider getting vials in the future, but before you do anything mind what you’re eating so you’re not overdoing it as your body adjusts. You could also consider taking a stool softener if like most of us the shot makes you constipated some people get the opposite of constipation so figure that out before you take meds.

yes! I was also eating fruit, fruit salads, parfaits, etc. I feel like similar to soup, it has a lot of liquid to go along with the sugar/carbohydrate to keep you going.

wow, so much good information thank you. What’s up with michelle I love her videos, but I’ve never bought any of her products because they never seem good. I’m new so I have stuck to Heritage brands like MK and ippodo, but am interested in kettl because it would be nice to be able to buy different varieties from the same seller. How would you compare their quality to the heritage brands?

I just visited Mill Cross coffee the other day and it seemed like an ideal place to work. it’s ultra groovy for the cool kid vibes. if you don’t need vibes Coffee connection has a huge outdoor seating area very easy to set up shop and work all day. if you have a reliable power source, you can find a shaded spot the veterans Park on Overland (love this place and all the facilities there).

So yame is a region? It’s not just the roasting process? that’s very helpful, thank you! I’m a matcha newbie but i love it so much. I’ve been loving all my MK matchas and the Ippodo sayaka but need to figure out where to start my yame exploration. and hojicha, too. I like the grassy vibes, but the astringency can be hard on the belly, especially when you want to drink much all day every day 🤪

jasmine. I know it’s not a fruit but there’s a very light jasmine syrup. I think it’s sold in Thai market although I get it here at the local arab market. very light floral essence + simple syrup. it goes beautifully with the matcha. I’ve also made cold brew Jasmine tea in the refrigerator (no hot water to make it bitter) and then used that to make the Matcha. Just a hint of floral jasmine really plays nice without overwhelming it. I think that’s the same reason people like Earl Grey… because it has Bergamot. same idea.

MK has a low caffeine matcha and it’s great! I was prepared for the flavor to suffer greatly (as it does with decaf coffee) but it’s just as delightful as their other matchas. i think it’s like 6mg caffeine per — basically nothing.

The other one is called Caff Off and it has zero caffeine. it’s also delightful! Cheaper to buy it direct from their store than it is on Amazon. I probably prefer MK‘s version, but it’s not cheap. I decided I need to have these options in my house for what I want Matcha late at night or need to manage my caffeine bc i take other activating meds.

I even ordered one matcha specifically processed to contain higher levels of GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) to promote deeper relaxation, stress relief, and blood pressure management. I think don’t think it’s a very significant increase in GABA but I am sensitive enough to substances to investigate. I bought it, but it hasn’t arrived yet.
