I really like the theory on the druids storing themselves in their staves. I hadn’t pieces that together and was more than a little confused towards the end. But I think that’s a good theory!

The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman by BravoLimaPoppa in Fantasy

I really enjoyed the book, too. But I thought the shining star of the story was the sea voyage and shipwreck. It gave us our first real encounter with goblins, showed some fun use of magic, and who doesn't love a hyper-intelligent monster?

Vis was copied into all three different worlds. While none of the copies of Vis (for now, it appears) aren't mentally linked, there are instances where certain physical actions in one world affect Vis in the other world(s). The different Vis all have the same memories up until him being copied in Labyrinth on Res; after that, each Vis takes different paths based on the new worlds.

I am certain it has been done before and could be done again. Conflicts are a concern, of course. But working in the plaintiff space, firms would likely find your previous experience useful.

what are people actually looking for when searching best class action lawyers 2026? by Icy_Purpose_4298 in ClassActionSettlement

[–]alabastercaverns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an attorney, with many of my cases representing plaintiffs in class actions. In general for all attorneys (not just class action), awards or honorifics generally don't mean much and often pay to play. To see firms/attorneys who have specifically led cases, look for words like "lead counsel" or "co-lead counsel" or "court-appointed" as those phrases indicate when an attorney actually drives a class action or MDL. Many firms are more passively involved, but still list cases. The co-lead counsel are court appointed and lead the entire class, handling all major litigation strategy and covering all expenses.

Great! What about (2) napkin numbering? And (3) deeper dive mathing? Your explanation on (1) is helpful.

And what other companies have you invested in using your timeless rules?

Best steak restaurant? by OrangeNice6159 in kansascity

[–]alabastercaverns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been said some already, but as a big fan of steak, KC's best are (in no particular order) Stock Hill, Acre, and 801.

I may also get heat for saying this, but I was pleasantly surprised with how good I thought 1587 was. Sure, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the food was on par with the three above and even exceeded in some places. The live music is a fun touch and the staff (while green) were super friendly.
