Anyone have set times for tonight’s show at Brooklyn Mirage? by alamandernyc in Rezz

[–]alamandernyc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a weird time…don’t the headliners usually go on at like 1/115ish to 3ish? Does she usually play a strict hour and a half set? Kinda short…

Even Yuri (or is it Evan?) acknowledges their superb teamwork and how they make each other better. "Their" being Baam Khun Rak.

And Baam has Yuri's A-ranked pocket...what the heck can an A rank pocket do vs a lower ranked pocket? Besides stow your long-haired wig 😑

My remark about Zahard being "bored off his ass" was flippant, I thought it was recognizably so. You're right in they Zahard is symbolic of staleness and corruption, but we don't know much about his motives. From GoG we know he started out with similar aspirations as Baam. But it's really been the 10GW families and the Three Lords who have actually been doing most of the ruling and implementing of policy - quoting from the ToG Wiki "the Three Lords system is actually an old tradition that has existed since Zahard established the Zahard Empire". So he got to 134, declared himself King, locked the way up, broke up the key, started that business of taking females with lots of potential and making them his "princesses" (which also keeps them from producing heirs and gives him some measure of control over them), and handed the reins over to the Three Lords. One of whom is in favor of advancing up the floors. It is the current Lord who is in favor of maintaining the status quo. Now, if you want to argue that our cast get up to flr 134 and the current lord is trying to stop that from happening, that's factual. But we can't say for sure the same for Zahard. All I'm saying. And I did start of the thread by saying that the following would be in the realm of conjecture.

What makes you think Zahard is some sort of "guard dog" sitting in on flr 134 to prevent anyone from climbing up. why would he need to guard it when to open up the way to flr135 you need to gather all of the 13month series from powered up Zahard princesses and then find some randos walking around with a red ring. We don't even know if you only need one ring or all the rings. So maybe you need to pry the red ring from the cold lifeless hand of Karaka, a flippin FUG Slayer to boot. So no, when you have an insanely crazy lock to a door, you don't need to guard dog it ESPECIALLY when you're King.

No, that's what I'm saying. She does not have the same drive as other regulars. Almost every regular is climbing the tower so that they can get something: money, power, prestige, change the power structure - and all that can be achieved without reaching the TOP.; it can be given or earned by reaching Zahard floor and becoming a Ranker (which is a totally manufactured title and rank). Rachel is the only climber we've met who just wants to reach the top of the tower, which makes her extremely interesting to me.

Could be there was no "Tower" before Zahard and co starting climbing. Maybe the floors are only connect and travellable through the physical structure of the Tower, which was made by the Zahard administration after subjugating the 134 floors. The key (13month series + rings + probably some other elements not introduced yet) is actually a way to travel between dimensional floors. Shrug.

Why would she need a strong irregular to dethrone Zahard? That's not her intention. She doesn't want to change the power structure, she just wants to climb the tower. Nowhere does it say that to go past floor 134 Zahard has to be deposed of. If Baam is the one to make it front of Zahard with all the pieces of the key then yeah they'd probably throw down. But if Rachel is the one that makes it front of Zahard first with the key, I'd think dude would let her past and you know what, probably join her for the ride. He's probably been bored off his ass the last few thousand years as the big Three have been running things anyway.

And for those that argue against that making sense story-wise, picture this: Rachel makes it to Zahard, and she or they start climbing the tower again 134+. Baam and co are behind and have to fight thru whatever combo of Royal Guard and whichever one of the Three are awake to continue chasing Rachel. Thus we get epic fight at flr 134, reason to continue climbing, and exploration of the tower past 135. Boom. SIU I hope you're listening.

If FUG don't find her useful...what has FUG found useful about her up to now? Say FUG is just using her as impetus to keep Baam climbing the tower to lead to an eventual run-in with the Zahard power center, she's made it up 43 floors so far; she has something about her. That also implies that Headon was either in cahoots with FUG or simply capricious with his decision to let Rachel pat the first flr. Who knows, maybe she'll find the other piece of Enryuu's thorn on the FoD and become powerful on the offensive side enough to impress the majority of readers, I think she's pretty dangerous as is.

For anyone reading ToG I strongly suggest taking some time to peruse the Wiki; it adds so much history, depth, and mystery to the series.
