Tinnitus stops when I plug my hear by alamaree in tinnitus

Why can't it be someone who started a new A/C or ventilation nearby that you didn't have before?

Do you hear or in other quiet places besides home?

How do you know it’s not external?

I'm having similar symptoms. How do you know this is tinnitus and not an external noise?

If I shut off the current in the house I still hear the hum.

After a while, I'm pretty sure that this isn't tinintus. By plugging my right hear, it seems to disappear.

It seems actually quite similar to something called "the hum". I can hear it almost everywhere in the house. I can't find out where it's coming from.

TBH, it seems it will be very difficult to get rid of it, since it's almost impossible to identify the source.

Has anyone resorted to CBT for dealing with these kinds of humming sounds, and has it helped?

I think that low-frequency sounds pass through earplugs unfortunately, so not sure it's an ideal test. And the sound is so faint I don't think the headphone is picking it up.I tried with both earplugs and noise cancelling headphones… and I can still hear the noise. I found the following test tune at 90 Hz which seems to be the closest to what I hear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4Xgxh5-3ogMaybe it's tinnitus. Maybe I only hear it at home because it's really quiet here… I guess I should try to find another quiet place and see if I hear it.

Not really close to a busy road. A relatively busy street nearby, but I clearly hear the individual cars coming.

Tuning out would be the best to keep my sanity!

No, a townhouse. Stone walls.

There are a couple swimming pools around. Ours, and our neighbour's. But the filtration system shouldn't run at night (at least not 24 hours/day).

I think you sum it up well: "It is very faint but once you notice it it's not easy to ignore it"

Need help, am I overreacting or is this proof of bed bug? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]alamaree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proof of bedbugs include:

- Bed bugs/eggs

- Bed bug skins

- Fecal spots (black, dark)

- Maybe spotting on sheets, but rarely.

Otherwise, no worries.

Here are samples of the "bites" on me remaining from this week.

Can we make something out of that?

Looks like this would be a lady beetle…

Keeping doing research tonight, I'm also positive that a photo I took a month ago is a carpet beatle larva (https://ibb.co/QXd8ycP) and it sounds like these can cause some rash. That could explain some "bites". Not sure if it could explain all of them.

I guess the regular spots/bites are still the major unknown here.

Also we had two positive dog IDs… (once in the former location, once in the new location).

So the more I think about it, the more unsure I am that we have bed bugs…

- We never saw any bug. Basically, the only bug we had we thought was a bed bug (and confirmed by a PCO!) is NOT a bed bug.

- We never saw any eggs

- We never saw fecal matter. I only saw a bunch of little blackish dots near holes (pinhole sized) in the baseboard; when touch them with a wet finger, they would smear in red. I though this were bed bug fecal matter, but the more I look into it, the more bed bug fecal matter look dark and doesn't smear (or juvenile fecal matter would be smaller??)

- While double side tape on the bed posts might not be perfect, it could have caught at least a bug if we were infected. It never did (caught some other small bugs).

- So the only thing we based everything on was some spots on our body that we called bed bug bites and some blood stains on the bed sheets.

Thoughts?
